Make sure the vibr ation damping units are securely attached to the engine unit and handle unit.

English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General w orking instructions Basic safety rules • Look around you: - T o ensure that people, animals or other things cannot aff ect your control of the machine . - T o make sure that none of the abo ve come into contact with the cutting blade .
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • F eed down the machine in line with the b lade. Pressure from the side can damage the blade and is v er y dangerous. • The guard f or the cutting equipment should be adjusted so that the rear section is flush with the work piece.
English – 11 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Cutting blades General Cutting b lades are av ailable in tw o basic designs; abrasive discs and diamond blades . Alwa ys remove the cutting b lade when the machine is transpor ted. Make sure that the right bushing is used f or the cutting blade to be fitted on the machine.
12 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Diamond blades Diamond b lades consist of a steel body provided with segments that contain industrial diamonds. Diamond blades ensure lo wer costs per cutting operation, f ewer b lade changes and a constant cutting depth.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Chec king the drive axle and flange washers Check that the threads on the driv e shaft are undamaged. Check that the contact surf aces of the cutting blade and flanges are flat, run correctly on the spindle and are free from f oreign objects.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys been r un using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 15 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting and stopping Starting a cold engine Ignition: Slide the ignition s witch to the left. Choke: Pull the choke control fully out. Start throttle lock: Press in the throttle trigger lock, throttle control and then the star t throttle lock (A).
16 – English MAINTENANCE T ensioning the drive belt • The drive belt is fully enclosed and well protected from dust and dir t. • When tensioning the drive belt, slightly loosen the nuts (A) holding the cutting head and belt guard. • T urn the tension screw so that the nut (B) aligns with the arrow on the guard.
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Air filter Air filters must be regularly cleaned to remov e dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Loss of engine power • Unnecessar y wear to engine par ts. • Excessive fuel consumption.
18 – English MAINTENANCE • Remov e any remnants of the old starter cord and check that the return spr ing works. Inser t the new star ter cord through the hole in the star ter housing and in the cord pulley . • Secure the star ter cord around the cord pulley as illustrated.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburettor adjustment. • Wrong fuel mixture (too much oil). • A dir ty air filter . These f actors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and starting difficulties.
