English – 7 MA CHINE´S SAFETY EQUIPMENT General This section describes the machine´s safety equipment, its pur pose, and ho w checks and maintenance should be carried out to ensure that it operates correctly . Throttle loc kout The throttle trigger lock is designed to pre vent accidental operation of the throttle.

English – 11 ASSEMBLING AND ADJUSTMENTS General Checking the drive shaft and flange washers When the blade is replaced with a ne w one, chec k the flange washers and the drive shaft.
12 – English FUEL HANDLING General Fuel P etrol • Use good quality unleaded or leaded petrol. • The lowest octane recommended is 90 (R ON). If you run the engine on a lower octane g rade than 90 so-called knocking can occur . This gives rise to a high engine temperature, which can result in serious engine damage.

14 – English OPERA TING W ork area safety • Obser ve y our surroundings to ensure that nothing can aff ect your control of the machine. • Ensure that no one/nothing can come into contact with the cutting equipment or be hit by parts if the blade breaks.

English – 17 ST ARTING AND ST OPPING Before starting • P erform daily maintenance. See instr uctions in the section "Maintenance". Star ting • Decompression valve: Press in the valv e to reduce the pressure in the cylinder , this is to assist star ting the power cutter .
18 – English ST ARTING AND ST OPPING • With a cold engine: The machine stops when the engine fires becase the chokel control is pulled out. Press the choke control and the decompression v alv e. Pull the star ter handle until the engine star ts. • When the engine star ts, quickly apply full throttle to automatically disengage f ast idle.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE General • Let your Husqv arna dealer regular ly check the machine and mak e essential adjustments and repairs. Maintenance schedule In the maintenance schedule you can see which parts of your machine that require maintenance, and with which intervals it should take place .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Cleaning External cleaning • Clean the machine daily by rinsing it with clean water after the work is finished. Cooling air intake • Clean the cooling air intake when needed.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Replacing the drive belt • First release the two bolts and then the adjuster scre w to release the belt tension. • Now unscrew the bolts and dismantle the belt guard. • Remov e the belt from the belt pulley . • The cutting head is now loose and can be remov ed from the machine.
22 – English MAINTENANCE Starter Checking the starter cord • Loosen the screws that hold the starter against the crankcase and remov e the star ter. • Pull the cord out about 30 cm and lift it into the cut-out in the peripher y of the star ter pulley .
English – 23 MAINTENANCE Fitting the starter • T o fit the star ter , first pull out the star ter cord and place the star ter in position against the crankcase. Then slowly release the star ter cord so that the pulley engages with the pawls . • Tighten the screws.
