9 ASSEMBL Y CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your tr actor were ov er infl ated at the factory f or shipping pur poses. Correct tire pressure is impor tant f or best cutting performance. • Reduce tire pressure to PSI sho wn on tires. CHECK DECK LEVELNESS F or best cutting results, mower housing should be properly le veled.

13 OPERA TION T O ADJUST MO WER CUT TING HEIGHT (See Fig. 18) The po si tion of the at tach ment lift le v er (A) de ter mines the cut ting height. • Put attachment lift le ver in desired cutting height slot. The cutting height range is ap pro x i mate ly 1" to 4".

15 CA UTION: Alcohol b lended fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol or methanol) can attract moisture which leads to sep a ra tion and for ma tion of acids during storage. Acidic gas can dama g e the fuel system of an engine while in storage. T o av oid engine problems, the fuel system should be emptied before stor ag e of 30 days or longer .

19 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts f or deter ior ation and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if they begin to slip from w ear . TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be kept clean to assure proper cooling.
20 MAINTENANCE MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muffl er and spark arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fi re hazard and/or dam- age. SP ARK PLUGS Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing season or after e very 100 hours of operation, whichev er occurs fi rst.
21 T O LEVEL MO WER Make sure tires are properly infl ated to the PSI shown on tires. If tires are ov er or under infl ated, it may aff ect the appearance of y our lawn and lead you to think the mo wer is not adjusted properly . VISU AL SIDE-T O-SIDE ADJUSTMENT (See Fig.
