English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimise vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Chec king, maintaining and servicing the machine ′′ ′ ′ s safety equipment Throttle loc k • Make sure the throttle control is loc ked at the idle setting when the throttle lock is released. • Press the throttle lock and mak e sure it retur ns to its original position when you release it.
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • If the muffler on y our machine is fitted with a spark arrestor mesh then it should be cleaned regularly . A block ed mesh causes the engine to ov erheat, which can lead to ser ious damage. Nev er use a muffler with a def ective spark arrestor mesh.
8 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS General safety precautions Starting • The complete clutch cov er and shaft must be fitted before the machine is star ted, otherwise the clutch can come loose and cause personal injur y . • Ne ver start the machine indoors.

10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Cutting • The trimmer is ideal for cutting gr ass that is difficult to reach using a normal lawn mower . K eep the cord parallel to the ground when cutting. A void pressing the trimmer head against the ground as this can ruin the lawn and damage the tool.

12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle (326C) • P osition the handle on the shaft. Note that the handle must be mounted below the arro w on the shaft. • Fit the screw , secur ing plate and wing nut as shown in the diagram. • Tighten the wing nut.
English – 13 ASSEMBL Y Fitting a trimmer guar d and Superauto II trimmer head (326L, 326Lx, 326LDx) • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head. Hook the guard onto the fitting on the shaft and secure it with the bolt (L). • Fit the drive disc (B) on the output shaft.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of gasoline and two-strok e engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 15 FUEL HANDLING Fuelling • Clean the area around the fuel cap . Contamination in the tank can cause operating prob lems. • Ensure that the fuel is well mix ed by shaking the container bef ore filling the tank.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Check the b lade to ensure that no cracks hav e formed at the bottom of the teeth or by the centre hole .
English – 17 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Air purge: Press the air purge diaphragm repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the diaphragm. The diaphragm need not be completely filled. Stopping Stop the engine by s witching off the ignition. Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!).
18 – English MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
English – 19 MAINTENANCE will run smoothly in ev er y position. The idle speed should also be well below the speed at which the cutting attachment starts to rotate. W ARNING! If the idle speed cannot be adjusted so that the cutting attachment stops, contact y our dealer/service workshop .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
English – 21 MAINTENANCE the e xcess bef ore fi tting the fi lter to the machine. Nev er use common engine oil. This would drain through the fi lter quite quickly and collect in the bottom. Bevel gear (326L, 326Lx, 326LDx) The be vel gear is fi lled with the right quantity of grease at the f actor y .
