GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 6 – English Impor tant P ersonal protective equipment HEARING PR O TECTION Wear hearing protection that provides adequate noise reduction. EYE PRO TECTION Alwa ys wear approved e ye protection. If you use a visor then you must also w ear approved protectiv e goggles.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 8 – English Stop s witch Use the stop switch to s witch off the engine. Star t the engine and mak e sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. If the muffler on your machine is fitted with a spark arrestor mesh this must be cleaned regularly . A b locked mesh will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage.
FUEL HANDLING 10 – English Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of y our body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING English – 11 Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING 12 – English Check bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use blades that are dull, crack ed or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order.
ST AR TING AND ST OPPING English – 13 W arm engine Primer bulb: Press the air purge repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the bulb . The b ulb need not be completely filled. Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using your left hand (CA UTION! Not with your foot!).
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES 14 – English General working instructions P ersonal protection • Wear personal protectiv e equipment. See instr uctions under the heading P ersonal protective equipment. • Alwa ys wear working clothes and heavy-duty long trousers.
W ORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 15 • When the engine is switched off , keep your hands and feet a way from the cutting attachment until it has stopped completely . • W atch out for stumps of branches that can be thrown out during cutting. • Do not cut too close to the ground.
MAINTENANCE 16 – English Carburettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
MAINTENANCE English – 17 Low speed jet L T r y to find the highest idle speed by turning the low speed jet L clockwise then anti-cloc kwise. When the highest speed has been found, turn the low speed jet L 1/4 turn anti-clockwise. CA UTION! If the blades mov e while the engine is idling the T screw should be turned anti-clockwise until they stop.
MAINTENANCE 18 – English Correctly adjusted carb urettor When the carburettor is correctly adjusted the machine accelerates without hesitation and burb les a little at maximum speed. It is also impor tant that the blades do not mov e when the engine is idling or when the choke control is in the star t position.
MAINTENANCE English – 19 Spark plug The spark plug condition is influenced by: • Incorrect carburettor adjustment. • An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or incorrect type of oil). • A dir ty air filter . These factors cause deposits on the spark plug electrodes, which ma y result in operating problems and star ting difficulties.
MAINTENANCE 20 – English Gear housing There is a grease nipple and a plug f or filling lubr icant on the gear housing. Use a grease gun to fill with grease. This should be done after ev er y 60 working hours. Use Husqvarna’ s special grease, no .
