14 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the cutting head • Fit the cutting head on the shaft so that the screw (A) is aligned with the hole in the shaft as shown. • Tighten screw A. • Tighten screw B . CA UTION! Make sure that the drive shaft inside the shaft engages with the cut-out in the cutting head.
English – 15 ASSEMBL Y • Tighten the knob . Dismantling: Undo the knob (at least three turns). • Push the knob tow ards the coupling. • Carefully twist the upper shaft to unlock it. • Hold both par ts of the shaft and pull the upper shaft out of the coupling.
16 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 17 FUEL HANDLING T wo-str oke oil • F or best results and perf ormance use HUSQV ARNA two- stroke engine oil, which is specially f or mulated f or our air- cooled two-strok e engines. • Ne ver use tw o-stroke oil intended f or water-cooled engines, sometimes ref erred to as outboard oil (rated TCW).
18 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remov e any objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Nev er use blunt, cr ack ed or damaged equipment. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order .
English – 19 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you f eel some resistance (the star ter pawls g rip), now quickly and powerfully pull the cord.
20 – English W ORKING TECHNIQUES General w orking instructions P ersonal protection • Alwa ys wear boots and other equipment described under the heading P ersonal protective equipment. • Alwa ys wear working clothes and heavy-duty long trousers.
English – 21 W ORKING TECHNIQUES Safety instructions after completing w ork • The transpor t guard should alwa ys be fi tted to the cutting attachment when the machine is not in use. • Make sure the cutting attachment has stopped bef ore cleaning, carr ying out repairs or an inspection.
22 – English W ORKING TECHNIQUES • Ne ver cut through the s welling at the root of the branch as this will slow do wn healing and increase the risk of fungal attack! • Use the stop at the base of the cutting head to provide suppor t during cutting.

24 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First turn the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.

26 – English MAINTENANCE Oiling the air fi lter Alwa ys use HUSQV ARNA fi lter oil, ar t. no. 531 00 92-48. The fi lter oil contains a solvent to mak e it spread ev enly through the fi lter . Y ou should theref ore av oid skin contact. Put the fi lter in a plastic bag and pour the fi lter oil ov er it.
