4 – English The machine’ s pr otective equipment This section describes the hedge trimmer ’ s protective equip- ment, its function and how checks and maintenance ar e carried out to ensure that it operates corr ectly . (See the chapter ”What is what” to locate where this equipment is positioned on your machine.
English – 5 4. Vibration damping system The hedge trimmer is equipped with a vibration damping system, which is designed to give as vibra- tion-free and comfortable use as possible. The hedge trimmer ’ s vibration damping system reduces the transfer of vibrations between the engine unit/blades and the hedge trimmer ’ s handles.

10 – English Basic working techniques • W ork with a swinging action from the bottom upwards when trimming sides. • Adapt the throttle according to resistance. • When trimming a hedge the engine should always be turned away from the hedge. • The hedge trimmer should be held as close to the body as possible to get the best balance.

12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the hand guar d and loop handle (325HD A55/325HE3) 1. Assemble the hand guard and loop handle by screwing them together . T ake care to align the holes in both parts. 2. Slide the loop handle and the hand guard onto the shaft.

14 – English Warm engine IGNITION: Set the stop switch to the start position. CHOKE: Set the choke control in the choke position and then back again to its original position (B) In this way only the start throttle is applied with no choke. AIR PUR GE: P ress the air purge dia- phragm repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the diaphragm.
English – 15 Fine adjustment • When the machine has been ” run-in ” the carburettor should be finely adjusted. The fine adjustment should be carried out by qualified person.
16 – English Adjusting the idle speed, T Adjust the idling speed with the screw T , if it is necessary to readjust. F irst turn the idle speed adjusting screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate/ mo ve. Then turn, counter-clock- wise until the cutting attachment stops.
