How Sonar W orks Sonar technology is based on sound wa ves. The 700 Series™ Fishing System uses sonar to locate and define structure, bottom contour and composition, as well as depth directly below the transducer .
When all the echoes are viewed side by side, an easy to interpret “graph“ of the bottom, fish, and structure appears. The so und p ulse s are t rans mitt ed at va riou s frequencies depending on the application. V ery high frequencies (455 kHz) are used for grea test definition but the operating depth is limited.
DualBeam PLUS™ Sonar Y our 700 Series™ Fishing System uses a 200/83 kHz DualBeam PLUS™ sonar system with a wide (60°) area of coverage. DualBeam PLUS™ sonar has a narrowly focused 20° center beam, surrounded by a second beam of 60°, expanding your co verage to an area equal to your depth.
QuadraBeam PLUS™ Sonar (with optional-purchase QuadraBeam PLUS™ transducer) Y ou r 70 0 S eries™ Fishin g S ystem also supports QuadraBeam PLUS™ sonar with the purchase of an additional QuadraBeam PLUS™ transducer . QuadraBeam PLUS™ sonar provides an extremely wide 90° area of coverage.
WideSide® Sonar (w ith op ti ona l-pu rc hase Wid eSid e® tr ans duce r) Y ou r 70 0 S eries™ Fishin g S ystem also su pp or ts Wid eS id e® s on ar w it h th e pu rch as e of a n ad di ti ona l Wid eS id e® transducer .
Dual Beam Ice T ransducer (o pti onal -pu rch ase XI 9 20 Ic e T ra ns duc er onl y) Y our Fishing System supports the optional- purchase XI 9 20 Ice T ransducer which prov ides selectable dual-frequency sonar with a wide area of cover age.
