13 2.6.2 Not ifi cation Pane l Your mobile phone will notify you whe n you receive a n ew message or there is an upcoming event. The notification pan el also informs you of alar ms and settings. Ope n the notification panel to see y our network op erator or to view a message, remind er, or eve nt notificatio n.
14 Opening the Notification Panel 1. When a new notificat ion icon appears on the notif ication bar, place your finger on the not ification bar and flick dow n to open the notific ation panel. 2. On the panel, you can: • Touch a notification to open th e related application .
15 Removing a Home Screen Item 1. Touch and hold an item on the H ome screen until the item expan ds and the mobile phone vibr ates. 2. Without lifting your finger, drag the item to the trash ca n. When the item a nd the trash can turn red, th e item is ready to be removed .
16 When your microSD™ card acts as a U SB mass storage, your mobile phone will not use this memory space. Ens ure that you follow the cor rect procedures to disconnect the US B mass storage d evice (your mobile p hone) from th e PC when you have fi nished transfer ring files.

19 3.3 Other Ope rations During a Call 3.3.1 Maki ng a Conferen ce Call If you receive a n ew call while you are alre ady in a call, you can a dd the second call to the call you are in. This fea ture is known as conference calling. You can also set u p a conference call with multip le callers.

23 4.6 Communicating with Your Contacts From the Contacts or Favorites tab, you can quickly ca ll or send a text (SMS) or multimedia (MMS) me ssage to a conta ct’s default phone number. You c an also open deta ils to view a lis t of all the wa ys you can commu nicate with t hat contact.

27 5 Using the Onscreen Keyboard 5.1 Displa ying the Keyboa rd To enter text, u se the onscr een keyboard. So me applications open t he keyboard aut omatically. In o thers, touch a text field to o pen the keyboard. Touch to hide the keyboard. Touch and hold a text field to open t he Edit text menu.
