Introduction This latest LCD monitor has a 15-inch active ma trix TFT (thin film transistor) liquid crystal display module. It is designed for use with any W indows ® -based PC. The monitor ’s compact design provides great space savings on your comput er desk.

Installation Please follow the instructions in this chapter to install your LCD monitor. Note: Before connect ing your monit or, first re ad through t he instru ctions in th is chapter and t he safety pre cautions i n the previous chapter .
Use the power button located at the lower middle of the front panel of your monitor to turn on and off the monitor. Three control buttons are also located at the lower middle of the front panel of your monitor. Their functions are described below: Button F u nction Description Select (1) Opens the OSD Main Menu.
4. Plug the analog video signal cable into the Anal og Video Input port on th e back of the monitor (as shown above). 5. Connect the other end o f the video cable int o yo ur compu ter’s video port. (Please check your computer ’s documentation for port location.
How to Install the Drivers The HP monitor comes with driver software that allows you to tak e advantage of the Plug and Play feature of the W indows ® Me, W indows 2000, o r Windows X P operating system. This software enables the computer to communi cat e with the monitor and use all the monitor features.
3. Select the Settings tab. 4. Click Advanced button. 5. Select the Monitor tab. 6. Click the Change b utton. 7. Select the Specify a Lo cation box. 8. F ind and open the vf51.inf file on the CD -ROM disc in the Drivers directory , and click OK . 9. Click Ne xt to install the selected monitor .
Using Y our Monitor This chapter contains informatio n about using your LCD monitor. T urning the Monitor On and Off Use the power button located at th e lower middle of the front panel of the monitor to turn the monitor on and off . When the monitor is on, the light (LED) near the P ower button is illuminated.
Tilting the Monitor The monitor has a tilt feature that allows you to tilt the moni tor back and forth to find the most comfortable viewing pos ition. T o tilt the monitor, grasp the sides and push the monitor back or pull it toward you until it is in the desired positi on.

Note: If the screen is still dirty , you c an dampen the c loth wit h several dr ops of dis tilled wat er . Make sure the LCD pa nel is com pletely d ry befo re you turn t he monitor back on.
Adjusting Y our Monitor This chapter contains information about how to c hange display settings for your LCD Monitor . It is designed with an On-Screen Display (OSD) menu to help you easily adjust to its optim um performance. Note: Y ou must pe rform Auto Configu ration be fore ma king any adju stment .
The following table brief ly describes each of the items in the OSD Main Menu . Item Description H POSITION Adjusts the horizontal (H) position of the displayed image. The d efault setting of H position is in the middle. V POSITION Adjusts the vertical (V) position of the displayed image.
Selecting Items in the OSD Menu T o select a specific item in the OSD Main Menu , or a specific item in the OSD submenu, use the Up ( ▲ ) and Down ( ▼ ) buttons to move to that i tem, and then select it b y pressing the Select button.
1. Open the OSD Main Menu by pressing the Select button. 2. P ress the Up ( ▲ ) or Down ( ▼ ) buttons to move forward or bac kward to the CL OCK (o r PHASE) icon and highlight it. 3. P ress the Select button to select it. This will open t he CL OCK (or PHASE) bar with the associated numeric v alue for your adjustment onscreen.

Adjusting Contras t and Brightness T o adjust the contrast (or brightness) of th e displayed images, follow the steps below: 1. Open the OSD Main Menu by selecting th e Select button. 2. P ress the Up ( ▲ ) or Down ( ▼ ) buttons to move forward or backward to the CONTRAST (or BRIGHTNESS) icon and highlight it.
Y ou may determine how long the OSD will stay onscreen by selecting th e OSD TIMEOUT option. Increase or decr ease the OSD display time by pressing the Up ( ▲ ) or Down ( ▼ ) buttons in the OSD TI MEOUT submenu. Th e maximum timeout setting i s 60 seconds.
Checking Other Information about Y our Monitor There is some useful information available to yo u with the OSD display. These include BAC KLIGHT INFO , SERIAL NUMBER and MODE INFO . BA CKLIGHT INFO tells you the total accumulate d ti me the backlight has been turned on.
Choosing Y our Native or Preferred Language for the OSD Display There are five language options for the OSD dis p lay: English, Deutsch, F rançais, Italiano, and Español. T o make your choice, follow the steps below: 1. Open the OSD Main Menu by pressing the Select button.
Note: Auto Configurat ion uses st ate- of-the-art sign al process ing algorithms based on the imag e displayed o n your scre en. Therefore , you should not change t he image on you r scree n while Auto Configu ratio n is runnin g.
