User ’s Guide 1–1 1 Get ting to Kno w Y our iP A Q Po c k e t P C Congratulations on purchasing an HP iP A Q hx4700 series Pocket PC. Use this guide to help you se t up your Pocket PC and to learn ho w it works. Using t he St ylus Y our iP A Q Pocket PC comes with a stylus that you should use to tap or write on your screen.

While holding do wn these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the iP A Q Pocket PC 2 for about tw o seconds.

User’s Gui de 3–1 3 Manag i ng the Battery Y our iP A Q Pocket PC is shipped with a rechargeable battery that is partially charged. It is recommended that you fully char ge the Pocket PC battery bef ore setting up the unit, and rechar ge regularly .

T o char ge your Pocket PC using the A C Adapter: 1. Insert the A C Adapter plug into the AC Char ger Adapter 1 .
Managing the Battery User ’s Guide 3–10 4. When the Po wer button indicator on the front of the Pocket PC turns solid amber , the unit is fully char ged and you can disconnect the A C Adapter . The approximate time to fully charge a drained battery is four hours.
Managing the Battery User ’s Guide 3–11 T o char ge your Pocket PC using the HP Desktop Cradle: 1. Plug the A C Adapter into an electrical outlet 1 and connect the other end of the A C Adapter to the AC connector on the HP Desktop Cradle 2 . 2. Slide the bottom of your Pocket PC into the HP iP A Q Cradle 3 and push firmly to seat it.
