1 We l c o m e As a valued c ustomer , we wan t y ou to hav e the best e xperience pos sible w ith yo ur HP iP A Q. T o re cei ve the most f rom y our inv estment , there is a minimum amount of mainte nance req uired to max imiz e and prolo ng the perfor mance of your pr oduct.
2 T o r eplace the bat tery cov er: 1. Hold the battery cov er on the right si de of your HP iP A Q at a 90º angle to the de v ice . 2. L ine up the two small hooks t o the corr esponding hole s in the battery compartment.
3 3. F old ov er the batter y co ver so that it is f lat on the back o f y our HP iP A Q. 4. F irmly pr ess do wn and slide up un til the battery cov er clic ks into place . NO TE: Be sure that y ou are appl ying e ven pr essur e to both the middle and bottom portions of the de vice .
4 CAUT ION: Incorrec t installation can cau se damage to the battery door hooks. Do not attempt to slide the door if th e door hooks ar e caug ht or stuck in the SIM car d tra y . Sliding or f orc ing the door will r esult in damage. Do not attempt to insert the top two t abs into the unit and then pre ss dow n the battery cove r .
5 Char ging/C ommuni cations P ort The bottom o f the HP iP A Q has a Char ging/Communi cations P or t , which consists o f a 2 2 -pin connector . The 2 2 -pin connector is used to connec t the HP iP A Q to a s ynchr oniz ation ca ble, cr adle and the A C Charger Adapte r .
6 LED L ights Although the screen turns off afte r you hav en’ t used y our HP iP A Q for a spec ified amount o f time , your HP iP A Q ne ver turns off unles s the battery is completel y depleted .
7 Deter mining the Stat e of Y our HP iP A Q Y our HP iP A Q has three differ ent modes in w hic h it operates. It is im por tant to kno w what y our cur rent de vice mode is , in order t o kno w when the ne xt char ging should occur . Suspe nd Mode In Suspend mode or “ po wer o ff” state the r adios r emain activ e.
8 Impr ov ing Batter y L i f e Y our HP iP A Q’s bat tery is used ofte n thr oughout the day as it perf orms tasks, suc h as phone calls, Bluetoot h connecti ons, GPS na vigati on and Infr ared (IR).

14 T roubleshooting y our HP iP A Q Po w e r Question Answer How do I kn ow that my HP iP A Q is char ging? When y our devi ce is plugged into the A C adapter or c harging cr adle, the amber LED sho ws and st ays cons tant. T his indicates that yo ur dev ice is char ging.
15 Aud io Question Answer My r inger is too loud or too soft . How do I adj ust the ringer v olume? T o adjust the r inger volume , tap the Vo l u m e ico n to p rig ht portion of the Tod ay screen . Then adjust the ri g ht v olume slider accor dingly .
16 Displa y How can I q uickly c reate unique r ing tones for m y HP iP A Q? T o make a uni que ring tone f or y our devi ce: 1. S ynchr oniz e y our dev ice w ith your pers onal computer . 2. Cop y the sound file that yo u want to us e as a ring tone to yo ur dev ice in any o f these formats .
17 Wh y does my backligh t ke ep turning off? The def ault settings on y our HP iP A Q turn off the backli ght after 30 seco nds of inacti vity . This is the de fault setting to conserv e your batte ry life.
