Control panel features 1 Power : Turns the product on or off. When the product is off, a minimal amou nt of power is still used. To completely remove power, turn off the product, then unplug the power cord. A blinking power light indicates there is an er ror on the printer.
Behavior Cause and solution Power light, ink levels, and at tenti on light are blinking. Ink access door is open. See Prepare the trays . Both ink level icons are blinking. Both cartridges are missing, or do not have the tape removed, or may be de fective.
Behavior Cause and solution Power light, letter "E", media icon, ink level icons, ink drop icon, and attention light are blinking. Printer is in an error state. Reset pr inter. 1. Turn printer off. 2. Unplug power cord. 3. Wait a minute, plug power cord back in.

NOTE: You can print your docume nt on both sides of t he paper, instead o f just one side. Click on t he Advanced button on the Paper/Qua lity or Layout tab.
NOTE: For specific details on h ow to format text for printi ng on envelopes, consult the hel p files in your word processing software. For best results, conside r using a label for the return address on envelopes. To print envel opes 1. Make sure the output tra y is open.
Printer settings tips • On the Paper/Quality tab of the print driver, sel ect the appropriate pap er type and quality f rom the Media drop down menu. • On the Adv anced tab, and select the ap propriate paper size from the Paper Size drop-down me nu.
6. In the Media drop-down list, click Photo Paper, Best Quality . NOTE: Photo Paper, Best Quality must be selected from the Media drop-down l ist on the Paper/ Quality tab to enable printing in maximum DPI. 7. Click the Advanced button. 8. In the Printer Features area, select Yes from the Print in Max DPI drop-down list.

4 Paper basics You can load man y different types and si zes of paper in the HP Deskjet 2510, includ ing letter or A4 pape r, photo paper, tran sparencies, and envelope s.
HP Print ing Paper • HP Printing Paper is a high-quality multi function paper. It produces documents tha t look and feel more substantial tha n documents printed o n standard multipur pose or copy pa per. It features Co lorLok Technology for less smearing, bolder blacks, and vi vid colors.

Locate the cartridg e number in the Printer Software 1. Click the HP De skjet 2510 s eries deskt op icon to o pen the Print er Software. NOTE: You can al so access the P rinter Software by clicking Start > Programs > HP > HP Deskjet 2510 series > H P Deskjet 2510 s eries 2.
4. Insert new cartridge. a . Remove ca rtridge from packaging. b . Remove plastic ta pe using pink pull t ab. c . Slide cartridge into slot until i t clicks into place.
Use single-cartridge mode Use the single-cart ridge mode to operate th e HP Deskjet 2510 w ith only one print ca rtridge. The single-cartri dge mode is initiated w hen a print cartridge is rem oved from the print cartridg e carriage. During single-cartridg e mode, the product can copy docum ents, copy photos, and print j obs from the computer.

6. Clean the prin t cartridges autom atically, if the diagnost ic page shows steaks o r missing portions of th e color and black boxes. To clean the cartr idges automatically a . Load l etter or A4 u nused pl ain white p aper i nto the in put tray. b .
Output tray • If the paper jam is loca ted near the front outp ut tray, pull the pa per gently out of th e output tray. • You may need to o pen the carriage door and sl ide the print carriage to the right to access the pa per jam.
