To connect the prod uct 1. Insert the product softw are C D in the comp ute r CD-ROM drive. 2. Follow the instru ctions on t he screen . When you are prom pted, conn ect t he p roduct to the comp ute r using the USB setup cable included in the box. Th e pro duct will attem pt t o con nect to the networ k.
To set up the H P All-in-One on a wireles s ad hoc network, you nee d to do the follow ing: See this section: First, collect all of the required materials. “ What you need for an ad hoc network” on page 5 Next, prepare your computer by creating a network profile.
e .I n t h e Network key box, type a WEP key that has exac tly 5 or exac tly 13 alphanumeric (ASCI I) cha r acte rs. For example, if you enter 5 cha r acte rs, yo u might enter ABCD E or 12345 . Or, if you en ter 13 cha racters, yo u might e nter ABCDEF123456 7 .
To connect th e pr od uct 1. Insert the product so ftware CD in the computer CD-ROM drive . 2. Follow the in struct ions on the screen. When you are prompted, co nne ct th e pro duct to the computer u sing the USB setu p cable included in the bo x. The product wi ll attempt to conn ect to the network.
NOTE: For optimal performa nce a nd se cu rit y in your wireless net w ork, use an access point (su ch as a wirel ess router) to connect the HP All-in-One . To change a USB con nection to an inte gra t ed w ireless WLAN 8 02. 11 connection 1. Unplug the USB connection f rom the back of the produ ct.
NOTE: Refer to your firew a ll d ocumentation on how to conf igu re the firew all p ort settings and how to a dd H P fi les to the "tru st ed" list.
To restore network defau lts 1. Press the Wireless butto n on th e product. 2. Press the button next to the dow n arrow o n th e di spl ay until Restore N etw ork Defaults is highlighted, and then press OK . 3. Confirm that you want to re store the network default s .
2 HP All-in-One overview Use the HP All-in-One to qui ckly and easily accomplish ta sks such as making a copy, scanning documents, or printing photos f rom a memory card or USB storage device. You can access many HP All-in -One functions di rectly from the co ntrol panel, without tu rning on your compute r.

Label Icon Name and Description 6 By default, this button is labelled Scan/Reprint and opens the Scan/Re print menu . When a photo is shown on the display, this button advances to the next photo on the memory car d. When the Copy or Photo settings menu is open, this button the changes copy or print settings.
To load fu ll-size p aper 1. Slide the paper-wid th guide to its outermost position. NOTE: If you are using letter or A4 paper or smalle r, make sure the tray extender is open all the way. When you use legal-size paper, leave the tray extende r closed.
3. Slide the paper-w id th g uid e inward until i t sto ps at the edge of t he paper. Do not overload the input tray; make sure the stack of pap er fits w it hin the in put tray and is no higher th an the top of th e paper-widt h guide. Avoid paper jams To help avoid paper jams, follow th ese guide lines.

Replace the print cartridges Follow these inst ructi ons to replace print cartridges. Fol lowing these in struct ions might also help solve print q uality issues relat ed to th e cartridges. NOTE: When the ink level for the print cartridge i s low, a me ssage appears on your computer screen.
1 Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge 2 Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print cartridges TIP: If you are removing the bla ck print cartridge in order to instal l the photo print cartridge, store th e black print cartridge in the print cartridge pr otector or an airt ight plastic container.
6. Hold the p rint cartridge with the HP logo on top, a nd insert the new prin t cartridge into the empty cartridge slo t. Make sure yo u push the print cartridg e in firmly until it snaps into place. If you are installi ng t he tri-col or p rint cartridge, slide it i nt o the left slot .
3 Troubleshooting and support This chapter contains troubleshoot ing information for the HP All-in-One. Setup troubleshooting Use this section to solve any problems you migh t encounter while setting up the HP All-in-One hardware. The product wi ll not tu rn on Try the following solutions if there are no light i ndications, no noise, and no movement fro m the product when you turn it on.
I connected th e USB cable, but I am having problems using the product with my computer Solution: You must first install the software that came with the product before connecting the USB cable. During installation, do not plug in the USB cable until prompted b y the onscreen instructions.
Network troubleshooting If you are encountering issues using your HP All- in-One over a networ k, try the following steps in the order listed: 1. Turn off the router, pr oduct, and computer, and then tur n them back on in this order: router first, then the product, and finally the computer.
To check a wireless c onnection 1. Make sure that the wireless radio on your computer is turned on. 2. If you are not using a unique network name (SSID), t hen it is possible that your wireless computer could be connected to a nearb y network that is not yours.
