Hardware options installation 13 IMPORTANT: Before remov ing any serviceable p arts, determin e whether the par t is hot plug or non - hot plug. If the device is non - hot plug, you must p ower down the server. Non - hot plug devices in the server includ e the processor, all boards, memor y modules, fan, ex pan sion boards , and all system driv es.

Hardware options installation 17 5. Slide the top panel forward, and then lift it to rel ease it from the chassis. 6. Use a screwd river to toggle the metal facepla te off the top pa nel. The metal fa ceplate is no longer needed when the rem ovable media drive ba y is occupied.

Conne ct the data cable to the USB connector on the system board, and then route the cable up and through the cable tunnel on the left si de of the media drive bay.
Hardware options installation 23 d. Slide the driv e into the media drive bay until it cli cks into place. 9. Install the RDX disk cartridge into the drive. 10. Slide the top panel back onto the chassis. 11. Tighten the rear thumbscrew to l ock the top panel in plac e.
Hardware options installation 24 13. Use the HP ProLiant MicroServer key to lock the panel door. M emory options The memory subsystem in th is server can support DIMM and UDIMM. Bo th types are re ferre d to as DIMMs when the information applies to both types.
Hardware options installation 25 Single- rank and dual- rank DIMMs DIMM config uration requir ements are based on these classifi cations: • Single - rank DIMM — One set of memory c hips that is accessed whil e writing to or reading from t he memory.
Hardware options installation 26 4. Open the DI MM slot latches. 5. Remove the D IMM. 6. Close the pa nel door. 7. Use the HP ProLiant MicroServer key to lock the panel door. To install the component: 1. Power down the serv er (on page 6 ). 2. Place the serv er on a flat, l evel work surface.

Hardware options installation 28 • Do not remove an ins talled TPM. Once install ed, the TPM becomes a per manent part of the system board. • When installing or replacing hardware, HP s ervice providers cannot enable the TPM o r the encryption technology.
Hardware options installation 29 5. Install the TPM board. Press down on the connector to s eat the board. 6. Install the TPM security rivet by pressing the rivet fi rmly into the system board. 7. Close the pa nel door. 8. Power up th e server (on page 6 ).

Be sure the diskette is not write protected. If it is, u se another diskette or remove the write protection.

Troubleshootin g 60 Server response time is slower than usual Action : Be sure the hard drive is not full, and increase the amount of free space on the hard drive, if needed. It is recommended that h ard drives shou ld have a minimum of 1 5 percent free space .
