Operating Manual 8 Fan switch Set the F F A A N N switc h to A uto or On . In “ A uto” mode (the most commonly used setting), the fan r uns only when the heating or cooling system is on. If set to “On, ” the fan runs continuously . Use this setting for improv ed air circulation, or for more efficient air cleaning.

Operating Manual 10 EnergyStar ® settings for maximum cost savings This thermostat is pre-set to use EnergyStar ® program settings. W e recommend these settings, since the y can reduce your heating/cooling e xpenses by as much as 33%. (See next page to adjust times and temper atures of each time period.

This will temporarily ov err ide the temperature setting f or the current time period. The new temperatur e will be maintained only until the ne xt prog rammed time period begins (see page 10).

This will override the temperature settings f or all time per iods . The “Hold” f eature turns off the program schedule and allows y ou to adjust the thermostat manually , as needed.
Operating Manual 14 Built-in compressor pr otection This featur e helps prevent damag e to the compressor in the air conditioning or heat pump system. Damage can occur if the compressor is r e- started too soon after shutdown. This featur e for ces the compressor to wait f or a f ew minutes befor e restarting.
