Rev 2.00 1 Document 900.0399 03/06 1 Introduction Features Your HRDE4X4 digital video reco rder (referred to as D VR thr o ughout this document) is a stand-alone and/or networ ked video and audio reco rding device. It provides recor ding capabilities for four camera-i nputs and is capable of even t, pre-event, or timelapse recording.
Rev 2.00 2 Document 900.0399 03/06 The Remote Access Software allows the admini strator to remotely connect to and mon itor multiple networked DVRs. The so ftware logs the o perational and alarm st atus of sites once a day for later analysis. The software lets you search based on time and retrieve video clips from remote sites.

Rev 2.00 8 Document 900.0399 03/06 SENSOR IN Connect to external alarm sensor devices to signal the DVR to r eact to events. Four sensors can be connected to the equipment sensor 1 – 4 dedicated to Video channel 1 – 4 respec tively.
Rev 2.00 9 Document 900.0399 03/06 Connecting the Power Cord 1. Connect the DC power cord of the adap ter to the DVR. 2. Connect the AC power co rd to the adapter and then to the wall outlet. Your DVR is now ready to operate. See Chapter 3, DVR Configuration and Chapter 4, Front Panel Operation for more information.

You can use this port to archive video onto a USB stick (see Archiving Video , page 36 ) and to upgrade the DVR firm ware. To move around each rectangular zone, use the arrow controls. Press SEL on each rectangular zone you want to inc lude as part of the motion sensi ng zone.

Recording Schedules To set up a recording schedule, select SCHEDULE in the RECOR D menu. Use the arrow but tons to navigate through the it ems and set the r ecording schedule.

Rev 2.00 34 Document 900.0399 03/06 Play Mode During playback of a recorded event, the mode changes from SEARCH to PLAY . While in PLAY mode, you may return to the previous SEARCH screen by pressing ESC . Playback starts in quad mode with channel 1 highlighted by default.

Remote monitoring requires installation of a Remote Access Software program on your PC (see Chap ter 5, RAS Installat ion ). A LAN connection using the RJ45 connector on the DVR rear panel is mandato ry for remote connection.
Rev 2.00 36 Document 900.0399 03/06 Archiving Video To archive a still image or video clip to a USB stick, the user must first archive a still image or video clip to the hard drive. Archiving Images or Video onto the Hard Drive Still images can be captured and archived onto the hard drive in live mode or while playing back recorded video.
