Bypassing Prote ction Zones – 20 – Using the 6 BYPASS Key This key is used whe n you w ant to arm you r system with on e or mo re zone s intentionally u nprotecte d. The system must be disarme d first. When bypassing z ones: • The system will no t allow fire zon es to be bypassed.

Chime Mode – 23 – Using the 9 CHIME Key This feature can be used only while the bur glary system is disarmed. Your system can be set to alert you to the opening o f a doo r o r w indow while it is d is- armed by using CHIME m ode. When activated, three tones will sou nd at the Ke ypad whene ver a protecte d doo r or windo w is opene d.
Panic Keys – 24 – Using Panic Keys Your sy stem may have been prog rammed to use spe cial keys or co mbinations of ke ys to manually activate eme rgency (panic) functio ns. The function s that might be program med are: Silen t Eme rgency, Aud ible E mergenc y, Pe rsonal Emerge ncy, and Fire.

Testing the System – 26 – Using the 5 TEST Key The TEST key p uts your system into Test mode, which allows each pro tection poin t to be chec ked for pr oper op eration. Testing shou ld be condu cted wee kly to ensure prope r operation . NO ALARM REPORT S WILL BE SEN T TO THE CENTR AL MONITOR ING STATION while t he system is in Test mode.
Trouble Cond itions – 27 – "Check" and "Battery" Displays The wor d CHECK on the keypad's d isplay, accompanie d by a "beeping " at the keypad, ind icates a trouble con dition in the system. To silen ce the beepin g for these co nditions, pres s any key .

Fire Alarm System – 29 – IF INSTALLED General Your fire alarm system (if installed) is on 24 hours a day, for continuous p rotection. In the ev ent of an e mergen cy, the strategically loc ated smoke and h eat detectors will automatically send signals to your system, trig gering a lou d, interrupte d sound fro m the Key pad.
