ANTENNA/CABLE CONNECT IONS 22 You can recor d one channel w hile v iew ing another . The same goes for Automatic Timer Recording and IRT. For details, please refer to "Recor ding" on pag e 22. You can ONLY record and view the SAME channel when using thi s connection.

PICTURE SEARCH 38 PICTURE SE ARCH This feature is ver y useful in finding or skippi ng ov er a par ticular scene on a tape. In this mode, the sound will be muted. 1) You may view a v ideo tape at a high speed in either a f orwar d or reverse di rection by pressing the F.
STILL PICT URE 39 STILL PICTURE You can vi ew a still picture on the TV screen during playback (the Still mode). Press the PAUSE button on the remote control dur ing playback. Press the PLAY button to return to playback. · You can adv ance the picture by one f rame at a time by pressing the PAUSE button on the remote control during the still mode.
VERTICAL HOLD CONT ROL 40 VERTICA L HOLD CONTROL In the Pause/Still mode only, when the picture beg ins to vibrate vertically, stabiliz e the picture by pressi ng the CH ANNEL(C H) or button. NOTES: · If the p icture is distorted or rollin g vertically, adjust vertical hold control o n your TV.
TRACKING ADJUSTMENT 41 TRA CKING ADJUSTMENT · Tracking adjustment will be set automatically (Dig ital T racking function) when y o u start playback. Howev er when play ing pre-recorded tapes or tapes recorded on units other than your own, noise lines (bl ack and whit e streaks) may appear on the play back picture.
SLOW MOTION 42 SLOW MOTION Press the SLOW button to reduce the playback speed. The VCR mutes the sound dur ing slow motion. You can contr ol the speed by pr essing the F.FW D button (faster) or the R EW button (slower). Press the PLAY button to r eturn to normal pl ayback.
COUNTER MEMORY 43 COUNTER MEMORY Use this feature to memor ize the beg inning point that y ou want to r eturn to. And you can search it easil y by rewinding or f ast forwarding . • Use the remote control f or this procedure. • The "PW R." and the "VC R" indicator must appear on the VCR' s digi tal display .

AUTO REPEAT PLAYBACK 45 A UTO REPEA T PLAY BAC K The VCR has the auto repeat function that allow s you to repeat a tape indefinitel y w ithout touching the PLAY button. Make sure to insert a pr erecorded tape. 1 Select "VCR SET UP" Press the MENU button until the VCR SET UP menu appears.
RENTAL PLAYBACK 46 RENTA L P LA YBACK This function enables you to impr ove the pictur e quali ty w hen playing back w orn cassettes such as rented tapes. • Selecting ON or OFF must be done during playback. 1 Insert rental tape into VC R Begin play back.
INDEX SEARCH 47 INDEX SEARCH This feature provi des a method of indexing the starting point so that it can be easil y returned to in either fast forwar d or rewind mode. · The index mark will be made automatically w hen the REC button is pressed. It will also be marked at the starti ng point of Timer recor ding, IR T.
QUICK-FIND 48 QUICK-FIND This function enables you to sear ch and confirm the contents of the recorded progr am(s) using the index mar k. The VCR begins fast forwar ding by selecting this function. W hen the VCR find the beginning of the progr am (=the index mark), the VCR beg ins playback vi deo tape at high speed for 30 seconds.
TIME SEARCH 49 TIME SEARCH The Time Search function makes it possible to qui ckly adv ance the tape to your desired position simpl y by entering the exact amount of play back time you w ant to skip. Example: To watch a prog ram after 2 hours and 50 minutes from the present posi tion, in either dir ection.
