The following are the common reasons for and ef fective preventive measures against the image retention.

23 ENGLISH AV 4 can be connected to the equipment with either Component or Composite output. When using as Composite, do not insert the jacks into P B or P R . If your external device has a Component terminal, COMPONENT connection is recommended for higher quality picture .
24 HDMI 2 and 3 terminal can be connected to the devices with HDMI output. If the external device has DVI output, this can be available with HDMI-DVI cable. In case of using the HDMI-DVI cable, connect to audio terminal besides HDMI input terminal. Refer to 26 about HDMI1 terminal on front.
25 ENGLISH PC terminal (D-sub 15 pin) is connected to PC, which allows Analogue RGB signal. Connect to also audio terminal on the rear besides PC (RGB) terminal. Sub Woofer terminal can bring the deep bass sound from the external speaker equipped with a built-in amplifi er .
26 CONNECTION (continued) Connecting Procedur e (continued) AV 5 can be connected to the equipment with S-video output and composite output. If your external device has S-video terminal, S-VIDEO connection is recommended for higher quality picture.

For details, refer to the Photo Input function shown on 86 ~ 90 . NOTE This photo input terminal does not support general USB devices such as USB memory .
28 Information How to secure the power cord and cables Step 1. Secure the power cord After connecting power cord to the rear panel, secure the power cord with the clamp. [Example : 50” model] Step 2. Secure all cables Secure all cables together with power cord by using large clamp.
29 ENGLISH BASIC OPERA TION P ower On/Off Now , turn On the main power to the unit. Make sure that the power cord is plugged into the wall socket. T o tur n On the power of the unit: 1. Press the Main Power switch on the unit. The Power Indicating Lamp will illuminate in Red (Standby mode).
30 BASIC OPERA TION (continued) Easy Setup When you turn ON the TV for the fi rst time, your TV automatically leads to the settings of “ Language ,” “ T arget ,” and “ Country (TV and DTT).” (Also, refer to the attached Quick Guide.) The integrated DVB-T tuner will only receive MPEG2 compressed signals.
31 ENGLISH Channel Up/Down button BASIC OPERA TION (continued) Channel Selections There are 4 ways to select the channels: stepping through the channel, selecting by number , selecting from the on-screen channel list, and using the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG).

The V olume Indicator value on the screen will shift right. 2. T o decrease the sound volume, press button on the remote control or V olume Down button on the control panel.

35 ENGLISH MENU OPERA TION Ho w to use On-Scr een Display (OSD) system With the On-Screen Display system, you can access the various kinds of the features and functions in this product. There are two setting menus of Main Menu and Function Menu. As usage, press MENU button to show Main Menu or FUNCTION button to show Function Menu.

40 MAIN MENU OPERA TION (continued) Confi guration Menu This menu provides various ways to protect your panel, reduce power consumption, and set up utilizing the useful functions, such as DVB subtitle setting. The menu items indicated by * can be automatically stored.
41 ENGLISH Selected Items Setup hint Luminance Manager Off This helps to reduce the risk of the image retention such as station logo by lowering the brightness of 4 corners. On Panel Mode 1 This function switches the driving method of the PDP panel at 50Hz input signal.
42 MAIN MENU OPERA TION (continued) Picture Menu (TV/A V mode) In this menu, you can make specifi c adjustments for the picture based on your preference. By pressing ź button at the bottom of each menu page, the next Picture menu page will appear on the screen.

If you press FUNCTION button on remote control at normal mode, the following menu appears. 61 ENGLISH Manual Recording T imer Y ou can set Recording T imer manually . 1. Press FUNCTION button. 2. Select “T imers” by using button, and press OK button. 3. Select “Programme T imers” by using button, and press OK button. T imer List appears.
62 Operating Recording Timer • Notifi cation appears 20 seconds before recording starts. • If Recording T imer is operated in standby mode, the TV starts up 1 minute before recording starts. The TV returns to standby mode after the programme ends.
63 ENGLISH HDD FUNCTIONS (continued) Playing the Recorded Programme by Selecting from Thumbnail-Size List Y ou can select the recorded programme you want to play from Thumbnail-Size List. 1. Press button, and the list of recorded programmes is displayed.

66 Dividing the Recorded Programme into T wo Y ou can divide the programme from the scene you prefer . 1. Press button, and the list of recorded programmes is displayed. 2. Select the programme by button, and press FUNCTION button. 3. Select “Divide” by button, and press OK button.
67 ENGLISH Copying the Recorded Programme onto other Folders All the recorded programmes are saved in “All” folder . Y ou can select the programme in “All” folder , and copy onto the other folders. 1. Press button, and the list of recorded programmes are displayed.
68 Setting Favourite Scenes as Thumbnail Y ou can select your favourite scene among recorded programmes to set as the thumbnail. 1. Press button, and the list of recorded programmes is displayed. 2. Select the programme by button, and press FUNCTION button.
69 ENGLISH Editing the T itle of Recorded Programme Y ou can edit the title of recorded programmes. 1. Press button, and the list of recorded programmes is displayed. 2. Select the programme by button, and press FUNCTION button. 3. Select “Rename” by button, and press OK button.
70 FEA TURES Channel List (TV mode) Y ou can adjust channel setting on channel list from Channel Manager menu. 1. Press MENU button on the remote control in TV mode. 2. Select “ Channel Manager ” from Main Menu. 3. Channel list shows up with those status marks.

72 FEA TURES (continued) Channel List (DTT mode) (continued) 5. Y ou can use the detailed setting by using setting section shown on the lower right. Hide Off Y ou can hide/show the channel which sets as “Skip On” by pressing OK button whilst selecting “ Hide ”.
73 ENGLISH EPG screen displays a list of the stored channels along with information on what programmes are being broadcast, if the service is available. Setting Recording T imer with EPG is available. See 59 for details. 1. Press button to display EPG screen.

76 Y ou can register your favourite list of channels. 1. Select “ Favourite ” in Function Menu. Refer to 50 . 2. Change pages using ◄► button and select channels using button. And then select the following buttons. Red (Del.) Deletes a registered channel.

NOTE Select T eletext language from Confi guration menu shown on 41 .
79 ENGLISH This teletext is for *** XR01U model in DTT mode. MHEG Digital T eletext can provide various information with text on the screen. • T o access/exit from T eletext screen, press button or Colour button depending on the programme being broadcast.

84 Activate in R GB mode When you activate the Multi Picture mode in RGB Input, the large screen (Main- screen) is RGB Input. The picture is displayed in PinP mode where the sub- screen is displayed inside of the large screen (Main-screen). 1. T o activate Multi Picture mode, press button on the remote control.
