Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 9 FLUE CONNECT OR BRACKET Package contains: 3 brackets and 6 screws. These brackets are to be used to hold the fl ue liner (not supplied) to the Insert and keep the connection. The brackets are screwed into the top of the Insert in the pre-punched holes and then screwed into the fl ue liner.

Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 13 INST ALLA TION 7) Location of Insulations a) Place 1 piece of Insulation behind the Mantel T op. b) Cut the second piece of Insulation in half, then install behind both the Left and Right Sides as shown. 8) The unit may now carefully be slid into fi nal position.
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 14 1. Ensure the unit is out from the fi replace opening by at least 4” before assembling the faceplate. 2. Remove the 4 bolts and washers on each side of the unit (shown below).
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 15 8. Install the left and right top corner faceplate mounting plates to the top surround using 2 bolts and washers per bracket. See diagram 7. T op Corner Faceplate Mounting Plates 9. Install the top surround by lining up the forks in the top surround to the installed capscrews on the mantel top.
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 16 Not using the 4th bolt location will help obtain a tighter fi t between the top surround and the left and right side surround. 11 . T ake the left or right side surround and slide the top bolt into the guide in the top corner faceplate mounting plate.

Use extreme care when handling. 4-1/2" - 4-3/4" boths sides rear inside edge to fi rebox. Important : V erify gap between cast and door did not change after rear adjustments have been made.

Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 19 INST ALLA TION 1) Remove the Phillips screw , located on the top of the fan housing, which attaches the fan defl ector to the main fan body . 2) T ake off the 2 screws from the fan switch plate as- sembly , and remove it from the left casting face.
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 20 INST ALLA TION 10) Attach the thermodisc assembly to the mounting holes located on the right side of the base of the main fan body using the existing hardware - 2 bolts, nuts and washers. Important Note: On older fan units these holes may require drilling.
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 21 Pull Open Push Closed hand side, as far as possible and then bring it back into the hole on the right hand side. Use a pair of vise grips or pliers and tap it into place with a hammer . A tighter fi t will ensure the tube will not move when the unit is burning.

As you dry out your fi re brick and your masonry fl ue (if applicable), your draft will increase. 10) For those units installed at higher elevations or into sub-standard masonry fi replaces, drafting problems may occur .
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 23 ASH DISPOSAL During constant use, ashes should be removed every few days. Please take care to prevent the build-up of ash around the start-up air housing located inside the fi rebox, under the loading door lip. DO NOT ALLOW ASHES TO BUILD UP TO THE LOADING DOORS.
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 24 DOOR GASKET If the door gasket requires replacement, 7/8" diameter material must be used. A proper high temperature gasket adhesive is required. A gasket repair kit, Part # 846-570 is available from your local Hampton dealer .
Hampton HI300 Wood Cast Insert 25 LA TCH ADJUSTMENT The door latch may require adjustment as the door gasket material compresses after a few fi res. Removal of spacers will allow the latch to be moved closer to the door frame, causing a tighter seal.
