EN - 1 0 Do not use hitch with bagger at tached. Do not use on steep hills or slopes. Do not park on hills when trailer is attached. Do not use with any ground engaging equipment. NEVER allow children or others in or on towed equipment. On slopes, the weight of the towed equi pment may cause loss of traction and loss of control.

EN - 1 4 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES See Figure 4 for all controls and f eatures locations. Safety Interloc k System Perform the following tests to ensure the safety interlock system is working p roperly . If the unit doe s not perform as stated contact your Gra vely dealer for repairs.
EN - 1 5 Throttle/Choke Lever (915146, 168) Choke (1) – Us e to start a cold engine. Push throttle lever past detent for choke to start a cold engine. Pull throttle lever back past detent to close choke for a warm engine. Fast (2) – Increases engine speed.
EN - 1 6 Seat Adjustm ent (915148, 150, 170, 178, 180) (Figure 6) Push lever back and slide seat forward or backward to the desired position. Release lever to lock seat in position. Seat Adjustm ent (915146, 168) 1. Tip the seat forward. See “TIPPING SEA T FORW ARD” on page 22.
EN - 1 7 NOTE: If water leaks excessively from hose coupling onto top of deck, coupling may not be fully seated onto washout port. T urn off water supply and repeat s teps 4 through 6. Use firm pressure while installing coupling onto washout port. 7. From the operators seat, start the engine and engage the PTO.
EN - 1 8 Fuel S t abiliz er Gasoline left in the fuel sy stem for ext ended periods without a stabilizer w ill deteriorate, resulting in gum deposits in the system .
EN - 1 9 MOVING UNIT MANUALL Y (Figure 8) Pull the bypass lever out and lock it in place, and then release the p arking brake to push the unit by hand. Push the by pass lever in to dr ive the unit normally . NOTE: There are two bypass levers; one on each side of the unit.
EN - 2 0 IMPORT ANT : Proper maintenance can prolong the life of unit. The following chart shows the re commended serv ice schedule. Refer to the maintena nce instructions in the Engine Manual for additional information.
EN - 2 1 Each Us e Follow Engine Manual Mainten- ance Schedule Perform scheduled engine maintenance. Refer to Engine Manual for detailed instructions. NOTE: T o drain the oil, remove oil drain cap and attach the oil drain hose, supplied in the lit pack, to the drain plug.

EN - 2 3 LEVELING AND ADJUSTING PITCH OF MOWER DE CK NOTE: Adjust on a level surface, with the tires inflated to the correct air pressure. See “SPECIFICA TIONS” on page 34. Three measure ments are required to lev el and adjust the pitch of the mower deck.
EN - 2 4 Adjusting The Mower Deck T o Adjust Mower Blade Height And Pitch (Figure 14) NOTE: Adjusting the mower deck will adjust the height and pi tch of the mower blades. 1. Adjust the trunnions first and re-take the three measurements required to level and adjust the pitch of the m ower deck.

Clean battery cable ends, negative (–) terminal, and positive (+) terminal with a wire brush and rinse with a weak baking soda solution.

R emove PTO belt from left mower deck pulley . 5. Slowly r elease idler arm until tens ion is removed f rom idler spring.

EN - 3 1 IMPORT ANT : NEVER store the engine with fuel in the fuel tank inside of a building with potential sources of ignition. Add Fuel S t abili zer 1. Drain fuel f rom fuel tank. 2. Allow the engine to run until it s tops. Turn engine OFF when it begins surging to avoid engine damage.
