7 Quick Star t TM Quic k Star t The headset can be worn on either ear . Rotate the ear hook to wear the headset on the left or rig ht ear . The volume control buttons can be switched so that the volume (+) button is always the top button . See “Switching V olume Control Buttons” on page 1 1.
8 Quick Start TM We aring Y our Headset W ith the Ear Hook 1. Loop the ear hook behind your ear . 2. Press the headset's ear ti p into your ear until you have a snug fit. 3. Point the headset's microphones toward your mouth. Wearing Y our Headset W ithout the Ear Hook 1.
9 Quick Star t TM Charging the nXZEN Headset Before use, charge t he headset using the supplied charger . The headset contains a rechargeable batt ery . 1. Turn the headset of f. 2. Connect the charger to the headset. 3. Connect the charger to the electrical wall outlet.
10 Quick Start TM T u r ning the Headset On a nd Off T o Turn the nXZE N Headset On Press and hold the SIDE button until 2 quick flashes of blue light occur , followed by a 3-second flash. A series of ascending tones (low to high) can be heard from your head set.
11 Quick Star t TM T o Decrease V olume Press and release the volume control (-) button for slight volume decrease. Press and hold down the volume control (- ) button for continuo us decrease. Y ou will hear a single beep on yo ur headset when you have reached the top or bottom of the volume range.
12 Quick Start TM Pairing the Headset a nd Multiple Pairings 1. Turn the headset on. 2. Press and hold the PINCH button until you hear 4 beeps or see 4 flashes, then release the button. The blue ligh t indicator is on when the headset is in p airing mode.
13 Quick Star t TM Initiat e Bluetooth Connectio n Depending on your phone model, you may have to init iate a Bluetooth connection using the phone. Select "connect to Bluet ooth device" from your phone or press and hold the PINCH button on your headset until you hear a single beep, then release the button.
14 Quick Start TM Changing the Ear Tip With one hand, firmly grasp the end of the ear tip between your thumb and ind ex finger . With the other hand, grasp the body of th e headset.
15 Features TM F ea tur es Answ ering a Call Y ou may hear a series of ring tone s from your headset when a call is incoming. T o Answer a Call Briefly press and release the SI DE button or Press and release the PINCH button af ter 1 beep.
16 Features TM Headset Not Connect ed to Mobile Phone (No Headset Icon): Y ou can transfer the ca ll to your headset at any time. Press and hold the PINCH button until you hear 1 bee p, then immediately release the button. It may t ake a few seconds to transfer , depending on your cell phone model.
17 Features TM Muting and Un-Mutin g the Microphone While on an Activ e Call T o Mu te the Call Briefly press and release the PINCH bu tton. A single beep followed by periodic beep s is heard, indicating the headset is muted. T o Un-mu te the Call Briefly press an d release the PINCH bu tton.
18 Features TM T r ansferring the Call between Mobile Phone and Headset (This function only works in Hands-Free Profile) T o Transf er the Call from the Headset to the Phone Press and hold the PINCH button until you hear 1 bee p, then immediately release the button.
19 Advanced F eatures TM Advanced F ea tur es Stereo Music Audio Input (Model 5500) This feature allows you to listen to stereo music th rough your headset. On an incoming call, the music will be muted to allow you to hear t he ring tones and answer the call.
20 Advanc ed Feature s TM Graphic Equalizer (Model 5500) The graphic equalizer allows you to customize the sound you hear in each mode of operation: St ereo Music or Phone. T o Use the Graphic Equalizer Install the applicat ion and follow the PDF instructions from the provided CD.
