Most glass casseroles, cooking dishes, measuring cups, custard cups, pottery or china dinner ware which does not have metallic trim or glaze with a metallic sheen can be used.

Food microwaves best when placed on the turntable or on the shelf in the lower position. Only use the shelf when reheating on more than one level. Do not store the shelf inside the oven cavity . • Make sure the shelf is positioned properly inside the microwave to prevent damage to the oven from arcing.
36 T er m Definition Arcing Arcing is the microwave term for sparks in the oven. Arcing is caused by: • the metal shelf being installed incorrectly and touching the microwave walls. • metal or foil touching the side of the oven. • foil that is not molded to food (upturned edges act like antennas).
