8 Throughout this manual, features and appearance may vary from your model. How to Light a Gas Sur face Burner Make sure all the sur face burners are placed in their respective positions. Push the control knob in and turn it to the LITE position. Y ou will hear a little clicking noise— the sound of the electric spark igniting the burner .
9 In Case of P ower Failure In case of a power failure, you can light the gas sur face burners on your range with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner , then push in and turn the control knob to the LITE position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way.
10 Most griddled foods require cooking on a preheated surface. Preheat griddle according to the guide below , then switch to the desired cook setting. IMPORT ANT NOTES: ■ Avoid cooking extremely greasy foods and be careful of grease spill-over while cooking .

32 Using the low er ov en draw er . (on some models) T o Use the Lower Oven Drawer Push in and turn the lower oven drawer knob to any desired setting. Allow the lower oven drawer to preheat . ■ The ON signal light is located on the upper right side of the knob and glows when the knob is in the ON position.
If your model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism. The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle t o work properly.
