1 Using Y our FPD 1540 Monitor The FPD 1540 monit or is a high-reso lution color LCD with: ■ Over 16 million colors ■ Excellent contrast a nd legibility ■ Space-saving and lig htweight design .
2 Chapter : Usi ng Your FPD 1540 Monit or www .gatew a y .com Connecting the monitor T o connect the monitor: 1 Position yo ur computer an d the monitor so you can ea sily reach the ba ck of each. 2 Attach the base to the m onitor . 3 Lay your mo nitor down flat.
3 Connecti ng the monit or www .gatew a y .com 4 Connect the power cord to the power connector underneath the bottom of the screen. 5 Connect the video cable to the blue video connector underneath the bottom of the screen. 6 Return the moni tor to its upright po sition.

5 Starti ng the monit or www .gatew a y .com Star ting the monitor T o start the monitor: 1 Press the power butto n on the monitor . The power LED turns on. 2 T urn on your comput er . 3 After your computer is running, the power LED on the monitor should be green.

For more information about software controls, see “Software controls” on page 10.

F or example, you can increase the resolution t o fit more icons on your de sktop, or you can decrease the resolut ion to make reading and identifying objects on the monitor easier .
