2 -EN W ARNING WARNING The e xclamation point within an equilateral triangle and "W ARNING" are intended to aler t the user to the presence of impor tant operating instructions. F ailure to heed the instructions will result in se v ere injur y or death.
EN 3 -EN Precision T ape Mechanism Pre vent any foreign objects fr om entering the cassette opening as the precision mechanism and tape head may be damaged.
4 -EN Detaching the Fr ont P anel 1 Press the PO WER button to turn off the power . 2 Press the (Release) button until the front panel pops out. 3 Grasp the left side of the front panel and pull it out. NO TES • The fr ont panel may become hot (especially the connector terminals), this is not malfunction.
EN 5 -EN T urning P ower On and Off 1 Press the PO WER button to turn on the unit. NO TE The unit can be turned on by pr essing any other button except the eject c b utton. The volume le vel gr adually increases to the pre vious le vel y ou were listening to before the unit was turned off.
6 -EN 3 Press the TUNE button to illuminate the DX and SEEK indicators in the display . With the DX mode activ ated, both strong and weak stations will be tuned in the A uto-Seek operation. Press again to return to the local mode. The DX indicator will tur n off and the SEEK indicator will remain illuminated.
7 -EN 4 Repeat the procedure to store up to 5 other stations onto the same band. T o use this procedure f or other bands, simply select the band desired and repeat the procedure. A total of 24 stations can be stored in the preset memor y (6 stations f or each band; FM1, FM2, MW and L W).
8 -EN RDS Operation Recalling Preset RDS Stations 1 Press the AF button to activ ate the RDS mode. The display sho ws "AF" when the RDS mode is activated. 2 Make sure that the function indicator at the top side of the "F" button illuminates , then press the preset button in which y our desired RDS station is preset.
9 -EN NOTE If no button is pr essed within 5 seconds after pr essing the PTY button, the PTY mode will be automa tically cancelled. 3 Press the DN g and f UP b uttons within 5 seconds after activ ating the PTY mode to choose the desired programme type while the PTY (programme type) is being displa yed.
10 -EN Priority News This function allows y ou to preset to give priority to the News prog ramme. Y ou will ne ver miss the News prog ramme as the unit automatically giv es priority to the News programme whene ver it begins broadcasting, and interrupts the programme y ou are currently listening.
11 -EN Inser ting/Ejecting Cassette 1 Inser t a cassette tape into the slot with the open side f acing right. When the cassette is loaded, the pla yer automatically star ts tape pla yback and indicates "T APE" in the display . 2 Press the Eject ( c ) button when y ou want to eject the cassette tape.
12 -EN F ast Forwar d and Rewind 1 Press the DN g or f UP b utton during tape pla y to fast re wind or f orward the tape respectiv ely . The tape side indicator ( or ) blinks and >> or << mo ves indicating the direction of the tape .
13 -EN Contr olling CD Changer (Optional) If an optional Alpine 6-disc CD Changer (M-Bus) is connected to the 8-pin DIN connector of the TDM-7583R/TDM-7581R/TDM-7580R you can control the CD Changer using the TDM-7583R/ TDM-7581R/TDM-7580R.
14 -EN M.I.X. (Random) Pla y 1 Press "F" button. The function indicator at the top side of the "F" button will turn off . 2 Press the M.I.X. button while the CD is pla ying or in the P ause mode. The M.I.X. indicator will appear in the displa y .
15 -EN Erasing Disc Title (TDM-7583R onl y) 1 Press the TITLE button to select the disc titling mode. Then press and hold it f or at least 3 seconds. 2 Press and hold the SOURCE button f or at least 3 seconds to activate the title er asing mode. The disc title in the displa y will blink.
16 -EN Remote Contr ol Operation Contr ols on Remote Contr ol (TDM-7583R onl y) 1 Mute Button Press the button to lo wer the volume by 20 dB instantly . Press the button again to cancel. 2 P ower Switch Press the s witch to turn the power on/off . 3 - / J Button Press the button to s witch between the Pla y and P ause modes for CD or T ape.
17 -EN Battery Replacement Applicable battery: Use two "AAA" sized dry batteries or equivalent. 1 Opening the battery cover Slide out the batter y cov er while fir mly pressing outward. 2 Replacing the battery Put the batteries in the case obser ving the polarities as illustrated.
18 -EN Information CD CD Changer not functioning. • Out of operating temperature range +50 ˚ C (+120 ˚ F) for CD. - Allo w the vehicle's interior (or trunk) temperature to cool. CD playbac k sound is wavering. • Moisture condensation in the CD Module.
19 -EN Indication for CD Changer • Protecti ve circuit is acti vated due to high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. • Malfunction in the CD Changer . - Consult your Alpine dealer . Press the magazine eject button and pull out the magazine.
20 -EN Installation and Connections IMPOR T ANT Please record the serial number of your unit in the space provided belo w and keep it as a permanent record.
