4 -EN PRECAUTIONS Never Attempt the Following Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit power is off. Inserting Discs Y our player accepts only one disc at a time for playback.
5 -EN Basic Operation PO WER RESET Detaching the Fr ont Panel 1 Press and hold the PO WER button f or more than 3 seconds to turn off the power . 2 Press the (Release) button at upper left side until the front panel pops out. 3 Grasp the left side of the front panel and pull it out.
6 -EN Basic Operation CENTER f MUTE B AND g DN f UP MODE (Rotary encoder) Adjusting V olume/Balance (Between Left and Right)/F ader (Between Front and Rear)/Defeat 1 Press the MODE (Rotary encoder) button repeatedly to choose the desired mode.
7 -EN Setting the Bass Contr ol Y ou can change the Bass F requency emphasis to create your o wn tonal preference . 1 Press the CENTER f button to select the BASS (bass Center frequency) control mode. 2-1 Setting the bass Center frequency: Press the g DN or f UP b utton to select the desired bass center frequency .
8 -EN Basic Operation Rotary encoder T . CORR B AND Here we calculate the time correction v alue for the front left speaker in the diag ram at the left. Conditions: F arthest Speaker – listening position : 2.25 m (88-9/16") F ront left speaker – listening position : 0.
9 -EN Bass Focus The time diff erence between the front-rear/left-right speakers , can be adjusted at the same time. With an initial dela y of 0.3 ms for each of the 0 to 39 steps , audib le time correction can be done. For finer adjustment, use the procedure in the pre vious section "Time Correction," f or which the delay steps are 0.
10 -EN Setting the MX Mode MX (Media Xpander) makes v ocals or instr uments sound distinct regardless of the music source. The radio , CD , and MP3, will be able to reproduce the music clearly ev en in cars with a lot of road noise. 1 Press the MX button to select MX ON.
11 -EN Quic k Searc hing Function Y ou can easily select trac ks and files. 1 Press the SOURCE b utton to set the desired source mode. ( CD mode is e xplained here as an example) 2 When setting the CD mode, press and hold the Q. S. button f or at least 2 seconds.
12 -EN Displa ying the Title/T ext It is possible to displa y the CD/Station title if the title has been pre viously inputted. For details , see “ Titling Disc/ Stations ” (page 13). T ext inf or mation, such as the disc name and the tr ack name, will be displa yed if pla ying a CD te xt compatible disc.
13 -EN Titling Discs/Stations It is possible to title y our f avorite CD's or radio stations . Y ou cannot input titles on MP3 discs (Except when a changer is connected). 1 Press the TITLE button and select the title displa y mode. F or details, see “ Displaying the Title/T ext ” (page 12).
14 -EN Switching the T uner Mode The CD A-7995/CDA-7894/CD A-7893/CD A-7892 incor porates the MAX TUNE SQ for the highest quality tuner audio . Moreov er , you can choose between two settings to suit your own personal sound pref erences and usage. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds.
15 -EN Sound (Beep) Guide Function This function will giv e audible f eedback with v ar ying tones depending upon the button pressed. 1 Press and hold the SETUP b utton for at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP or g DN b utton to select “ BEEP . ” 3 Press the B AND button to toggle the mode between BEEP ON and BEEP OFF .
16 -EN SETUP Operation B AND g DN f UP SETUP Rotary encoder Connecting to an External Amplifier (CD A-7894/CD A-7893/CD A-7892 only) When an external amplifier is connected, sound quality can be improv ed by stopping the po wer supply of the buit-in amplifier .
17 -EN Adjusting Displa y Contrast (CD A-7995 only) Y ou can adjust the displa y contrast f or better visibility . 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP or g DN button to select “ CONTRAST . ” 3 T ur n the Rotary encoder to adjust the contrast of the display .
18 -EN Radio Operation SOURCE B AND g DN f UP TUNE/A.ME Preset buttons (1 thr ough 6) Manual T uning 1 Press the SOURCE b utton until a radio frequency appears in the displa y . 2 Press the B AND button repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa yed.
19 -EN A utomatic Memor y of Station Presets 1 Press the SOURCE b utton to select the radio mode. 2 Press the B AND button repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa yed. 3 Press and hold the A. ME button f or at least 2 seconds. The frequency on the displa y continues to change while the automatic memory is in progress.
20 -EN CD Play er Operation SOURCE c - / J Insert a disc with the label side facing up. 2 Inser t a disc with the label side facing up . The disc will be pulled into the unit automatically . The mov able displa y will close and pla yback will begin. When a disc is already inser ted, press the SOURCE button to s witch to the CD mode.
21 -EN On handling Compact Discs (CD/CD-R/ CD-R W) • Do not touch the surf ace. • Do not e xpose the disc to direct sunlight. • Do not affix stick ers or labels and do not wr ite on the surf ace. • Clean the disc when it is dusty . • Make sure that there are no b umps around the disc.
22 -EN Contr olling CD Changer (Optional) An optional 6-disc or 12-disc CD Changer ma y be connected to the CD A-7995/CD A-7894/CDA-7893/CD A- 7892 if it is Ai-NET compatible.
23 -EN Multi-Changer Selection Alpine's Ai-NET system will suppor t up to 6 CD Changers. When operating two or more changers , the KCA-400C (Multi-Changer Switching de vice) must be used. If you use 1 Switching de vice, you can connect up to 4 CD Changers.
24 -EN Playing MP3 Files (CD A-7995/CD A-7894 only) The CD A-7995/CD A-7894 models include a built-in MP3 unit. Y ou can pla y CD-ROMs, CD-Rs , and CD-RWs containing MP3 files on this unit. Use the f or mat compliant with ISO 9660 le vel 1 or le vel 2.

26 -EN Setting the Range of MP3 File Selection Y ou can set the r ange of MP3 file selection to “entire disc contents” or “f older contents only . ” 1 Press and hold the SETUP b utton for at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP or g DN b utton to select DISC/ FOLDER (file selection range).

29 -EN Storing XM Channel Presets 1 Press the B AND button to select the desired band (XM1 or XM2) you w ant to store. 2 After tuning in the desired channel, press and hold any one of the Preset buttons (1 thr ough 6) that you w ant to store the station on f or at least 2 seconds.

31 -EN Battery Replacement Applicable battery: Use two “AAA” sized dr y batter ies or equivalent. 1 Opening the battery cover Slide out the battery cover while firmly pressing the direction of arrow . 2 Replacing the battery Put the batteries in the case obser ving the polarities as illustrated.
32 -EN Inf or ma tion CD CD Player/Changer not functioning. • Out of operating temperature range +50˚C (+120˚F) for CD. - Allow the vehicle's interior (or trunk) temperature to cool. CD pla yback sound is wavering. • Moisture condensation in the CD Module.
33 -EN Indication f or CD Player • Protective circuit is activated due to high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. • No CD is inserted. - Insert a CD. • Although a disc is inserted, “ NO DISC ” is displayed and the unit does not start to play or eject the disc.
34 -EN Indication for XM Radio Mode • The XM antenna is not connected to the XM radio module. - Check whether the XM antenna cable is attached securely to the XM radio module. • Radio is being updated with latest encryption code. - W ait until encryption code is being updated.
