• Batter y can f all out and injure a child if v ehicle tips ov er . Alwa ys use batter y clamp. • PREVENT FIRE - Ne ver modify the electrical system. Alterations could cause a fire resulting in serious injur y and could also r uin the electrical system.
9 Battery Charging • Locate the batter y compar tment in the front end of the v ehicle body . • Slide the batter y clamp open .. • While holding the batter y clamp open, remov e the batter y from the batter y compar tment .. • Release the batter y clamp .
10 Assembl y • Place a .437 cap nut on a flat surf ace, inside up , a s s h o w n . Hint: Y ou ma y want to place a scrap b lock of wood under neath the cap nut to protect the assemb ly surface . • Fit the rear axle into the cap nut. •T ap the opposite end of the rear axle with a hammer to secure the cap nut in the rear axle.
11 Assembl y • Fit shor t end of the front axles up through the holes in the underside of the steering linkage. Mak e sure the long end of each front axle fits into the groov e on each end of the steering linkage. •F it the other driver onto the end of the rear axle.
• While holding the front axle/steering linkage assembly in place, fit a long b ushing onto the end of each front axle. • Push each long bushing so that it fits completely into the v ehicle body . Long Bushings Assembly T ool 12 Assembl y • Fit the assembly tool onto the cap n ut.
Bushing (Ring Side First) •T ur n the vehicle assemb ly upr ight. •F it the two tabs on the front of the seat into the two slots in the vehicle body . 13 13 Assembl y •I nser t a #10 x 1" screw through the bac k of the seat and into the vehicle body .
14 Assembl y • Place the dashboard on the top side of the vehicle body , as shown. •I nser t five #10 x 1" scre ws through the dashboard and into the vehicle body .
•I nser t a hood latch into the slots in the front end of the v ehicle body . •T ur n each hood latch a 1 / 4 turn to secure in place. Pull up on the hood latches to be sure they are secure . Hood Latches Slots •I nser t the steer ing column (with steering wheel) into the large hole in the dashboard.
16 • Fit the spacers between the top of the brush guard and the front end of the vehicle . •I nser t two #8 x 4" screws through the tw o upper holes in the brush guard, through the spacers and into the front end of the vehicle . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdr iv er .
17 Label Decoration G Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the following guidelines in mind: •W ash y our hands before applying the labels . • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surface of the v ehicle with a clean, dr y cloth to remov e any dust or oils.

19 IMPORT ANT! Use only a P ower Wheels ® 6 v olt batter y with A-style connector and built-in thermal fuse. Use of any other battery will damage your v ehicle. Make sure that y ou charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed P ow er Wheels ® Super 6 ™ v olt charger before operating your vehic le for the fir st time .
20 If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf or mation below f or proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.
21 Rules f or Safe Driving K T each Safety Rules to Children While children can quickly de velop the skill necessary to drive this v ehicle, it is impor tant to remember that their judgment skills are still very immature. Unsupervised driving by children can lead to serious injur y .
22 Reverse • Press the FOR W ARD b utton on the floor of the v ehicle. • Press the f oot pedal. The vehicle drives f orward at a maximum of 3 1 / 2 mph. • Help your child pr actice steer ing to lear n how f ar and how quic kly to tur n the wheel when dr iving f orward.

24 Prob lem P ossible Cause Solution V ehicle does not run Undercharged battery Charge the battery . A new battery should have been charged for at least 18 hours bef ore using the vehicle f or the first time. After first-time use, recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use.
25 V ehicle was running but Loose wire or loose connectors Chec k all wires and connectors. Make sure the batter y suddenly stopped connector is tightly plugged into the motor harness con- nector , and that there are no loose wires around the motors.
