8 About Thermal Fuses Y our P ow er Wheels ® 12 v olt batter y is equipped with a bu ilt-in ther mal fuse. The ther mal fuse is a self-resetting saf ety device which automatically “trips” and shuts do wn operation of the v ehicle if the vehicle is ov erloaded or the driving conditions too sev ere.
9 Children can be har med b y small par ts, shar p edges and shar p points in the v ehicle’ s unassembled state , or by electrical items. Care should be taken in unpac king and assembly of the v ehicle. Children should not handle par ts, including the batter y , or help in assembly of the v ehicle.
10 Assembl y Dash • Replace the sound unit into the dash. • Replace the three #8 x 3 / 4 " screws into the sound unit. Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver . Do not ov er-tighten. Sound Unit 3 • Inser t three “AA” (LR6) alkaline batteries, as indicated inside the batter y compar tment.
11 Assembl y Batter y Clamp Unit Dash Dash Light Wire IMPORTANT! The battery clamp unit m ust be assembled to the dash bef ore assembling the dash to the vehicle bod y . •F it the batter y clamp unit into the dash so that the clamp fits into the groov es in the dash.
12 Assembl y 2 1 Batter y Compar tment Dash •P osition the dash on the v ehicle body . •M ake sure the motor connector is through the g roove in the dash. • Inser t a #10 x 1 / 2 " scre w through each of the two corner dash tabs nearest to the passenger compar tment .
13 Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the f ollo wing guidelines in mind: •W ash y our hands before applying the labels. • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surface of the v ehicle and r adio with a clean, dr y cloth to remov e any dust or oils.
14 • Fit the wide notch in the side of a headlight lens under the wide tab on a lens guard. • Press fir mly on the inside of the headlight lens to snap it into the lens guard. • Repeat this procedure to assemble the other headlight lens to the remaining lens guard.
15 Assembl y Hood T abs •P osition the hood ov er the front of the vehicle body as shown. • Inser t the tabs on the hood into the slots in the v ehicle body . • Close the hood. Slot Slot 22 Brush Guard Winch 23 • Fit the winch against the brush guard.
16 •T ur n the seat upside down. • Inser t the fastener end of a short seat belt strap through the slot near the outer edge of the seat. Make sure the side of the seat belt with the f astener faces the outer edge of the seat.
Inside Edge of Spor t Bar Suppor t Assembl y 32 •F it a spor t bar suppor t to one side of the spor t bar . •I nser t a #8 - 32 x 1.625 " screw through the sport bar suppor t, the spor t bar and out through the spor t bar suppor t. • Fit a lock n ut to the end of the screw .
18 Assembl y •T ur n the vehicle on its side . •I nser t two #10 x 1 / 2 " scre ws into the holes in the underside of each rear wheel well, through the v ehicle body and into the ends of the spor t bar . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver .
19 Assembl y •P osition the gas cap so that its tether points down. • Snap the gas cap into the hole under the right taillight. Gas Cap T ether 40 T aillight Lens T aillight Housing Rear Bumper Light Plate •L ift the rear of the vehicle . • Align the holes in the rear bumper tabs with the scre w pegs on the underside of the vehicle .
20 Label Decoration G Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! 22 Battery Installation H IMPORT ANT! Use only a P ower Wheels ® 12 volt battery . Use of any other battery will damage your v ehicle. Make sure that you charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed P ow er Wheels ® 12 v olt charger before operating y our vehicle f or the first time.
23 Battery Care and Disposal I If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. Please ref er to the information on this page for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool w ater for at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.

25 Ho w to Operate Y our V ehic le K • Make sure the shifter is in the lo w speed position . • Press down on the f oot pedal . The vehicle goes f orward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph . • Help your child pr actice steer ing to lear n how f ar and how quickly to turn the steering wheel when dr iving f orward in low speed.
26 Ho w to Operate the W ater Cannon and Sound Unit L Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive Ho w to Operate Y our V ehic le IMPORT ANT! T o a void damaging the motor s and g ears, stop the vehicle bef ore shifting between low and high speed. • Make sure the shifter is in the high speed position .
27 Caring For Y our V ehicle M • Check all scre ws, cap nuts and protectiv e cov er ings regularly and tighten as required. Check plastic par ts on a regular basis f or cracks or brok en pieces. • During snowy or rainy w eather , the vehicle should be stored inside or under a protective co ver .
