At Fisher & P aykel we aim to provide innov ative products that are simple to use , ergonomic and kind to the environment. This refrigerat or combines size and storage space with the lat est features and functions.

4 Unplug your refriger ator or freezer before cleaning or replacing the lightbulb. Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance. Impor tant! Y our refrigerator is designed to operate for many years without the need for service checks.
5 Installation instructions Please follow the st eps for installation to ensure y our appliance operates corr ectly. 1. P ower The appliance must be installed so the plug is accessible . T o ensure that the appliance is not ac cidentally switched off , connect your refrigerator or fr eezer to its own pow er point.

Installation Y our F isher & Pa ykel ActiveSmart™ refrigerator is fitted with front and rear r ollers, designed for mo ving the product in the forwards and backwards direction. Av oid moving the product in a sideways direction as this may damage the rollers or the floor covering/surface.
11 Installation instructions 5. What to do if your product is unstable E Gently push the refrigerator back until the r ear rollers contact the floor . Measure the gap under the front f oot, which has come off the floor . Obtain some solid packing material (hardwood, plastic,etc) which fits firmly into the gap under the foot.
12 Installation instructions Check that the product is stable (all 4 feet are on the floor). If not return to st ep E and repeat steps F and G . Before placing f ood in the fresh food or freez er compartments Remove all packaging. Ensure tha t all transit clips are remov ed from the refrigerator .
13 Moving or storing y our appliance If your refrigerator or fr eezer is turned off for any r eason, wait 10 minutes before turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration system pressur es to equalise before r estarting. Moving your applianc e T urn off the appliance and unplug from the power point.
14 Door con version If you need to hinge your door on the opposite side w e recommend that you call y our local Fisher & P aykel Authorised Repairer or Dealer to make this con version.

16 ActiveSmart ™ operating instructions Sabbath mode T o activate Sabbath mode, open both the fr esh food and freezer compartment doors and then hold the button on the temperatur e control panel f or 10 seconds .
17 ActiveSmart ™ special features Fruit and v egetable bins and humidit y con trol lid The fruit and vegetable bins f eature a unique lid which provides two functions: The humidity lid seals the bins to provide a humid micr oclimate to extend storage times of fruits and vegetables.
18 ActiveSmart ™ special features Manual ice system – fr eezer dra wer models only An ice storage bin which sits inside the upper top fr eezer bin provides stor age for and gives y ou access to clean, clear ice cubes . Information about y our manual ice system T o make ice, take the ic e tray and lid from on top of the ice st orage bin.
19 ActiveSmart ™ special features F ault alarms If the electronic controller detects a fault from which it is unable to rec over an alarm will sound. When the fresh f ood compar tment door is opened a fault c ode (specific pattern of lights) will flash red and green on the c ontrol panel to alert you to the fault.
20 ActiveSmart ™ cleaning care – interior/exterior Exterior Stainless exterior door It is impor tant when cleaning the exterior door surface of your refrigerator , to only use liquid dishwashing deter gent dissolved in warm water . Dry the door with a clean, lint free cloth.
21 ActiveSmart ™ cleaning care – special featur es Impor tant! Many commercially av ailable cleaning products contain solvents that may attack the plastic components of your freezer and c ause them to crack.
22 ActiveSmart ™ cleaning care – special featur es Humidity Control S ystem (where fitted) Impor tant! When cleaning the shelf above the vegetable bins, we recommend that y ou do not disassemble the Humidity Control System from the shelf .
23 ActiveSmart ™ cleaning care – special featur es Roll out fruit and vegetable bin (E415H model) Remove for cleaning b y pulling out the compartment until it stops, lifting and then continuing to slide it forward until it is fully extended.

25 C yclic and Compact special fea tures and maintenanc e P120 Ice bo x This is designed for short-term storage of fr ozen foods and ice only . It is recommended that the tray is kept in place under the ice bo x at all times.

27 C yclic and Compact cleaning care – special f eatures V egetable bin (525 mm wide models – ex cept P120 models) W ash in warm water and detergent . Rinse and dr y . Fruit and v egetable bins and lid (635 mm wide models) Remove bins then the bottom r efrigerator shelf .
28 C yclic and Compact cleaning care Defrosting the freez er model C170T It is recommended that a freezer be defr osted when the frost is grea ter than 6mm thick . Remove all fro zen food and wrap it in sever al layers of paper . Place food in the r efrigerator compartment or a cool environment, eg insulat ed picnic bin.
29 Models: 525mm wide E150, E210 635mm wide E308, E388 T emperature con trol The cabinet control is loca ted at the bottom rear of the cabinet. The control has been factory set to position 4 for normal operating conditions. The freezer t emperature should be appro ximately -18°C.
30 Chest freez ers operating instructions T emperature con trol The temperatur e of the freezer is contr olled by a thermostat fitted near the right-hand rear corner of the freezer . The thermostat has been set to position 4 during manufacturing for normal operating conditions and should not need adjustment.
31 Defrosting your chest fr eezer It is recommended that your freez er be defrosted when the frost is gr eater than 6mm thick using the plastic scraper provided . Remove all fro zen food and wrap it in sever al layers of paper . Place in a refrigerat or compar tment or a cool envir onment, eg insulated bin.
32 Storing f ood in your r efrigerat or Y our refrigerat or helps to extend the storage times of fresh perishable foods . The cold temperature slo ws down the major causes of food spoilage – namely , the growth of bacteria, moulds and yeasts, and chemical and ph ysical reactions.
33 Red meat Place fresh r ed meat on a plate and loosely cov er with waxed paper , plastic wrap or foil . Store cooked and r aw meat on separate plat es. This will prevent any juices lost from the ra w meat from contaminating the cooked pr oduct.
34 Storing f ood in your fr eezer The use of temperatur es of -18°C or colder to store f ood means that the food can be kept for longer periods than when refrigeration temperatur es are used.
35 Meat, poultry and game Do not tr y to fr eeze more than 1kg meat per 25L freezer capacity. Meatmust be frozen quickly in order to maintain its texture. Do not stuff poultr y bef ore freezing. Red meat can be cooked from fro zen, or from the partly or completely thawed stat es.

37 Problem P ossible causes What to do Condensation/ water in the vegetable bins. Fruit and v egetables continue to respire after harvest, giving off water which can form as condensation in the bins. A small amount of condensation is beneficial for fruit and vegetable st orage.
38 Manufac tur er ’ s W arranty Y ou automatically r eceive a 2 year Manufacturer’ s W arranty with the purchase of this Productcovering parts and labour for servicing within the countr y of purchase .
39 Ser vice under this Manufacturer’ s W arranty must be provided by a F isher & Pa ykel Authorised Repairer (ref er to the ‘Customer care ’ section at the back of this book). Such ser vice shall be provided during normal business hours. This W arranty cer tificate should be sho wn when making any claim.
