5 NOTE: T he Rail/Chain A ssembly is packaged separately f rom th e Power Head Un it. The trol ley, front i dler/ tension adjustment assembly , chain , drive gear and limit cam s are as sembled to the Rail/Chain Assembly at the factory. Follow the steps outlined below to complete assembly prior to installation.

8 STEP 3 — Raise the Opener and rest the Pow er Unit on a l adder or other stu rdy support. O pen the door the full open position. Allow 2" of space betw een the Tee Rail an d the top section of the door (as shown in th e illustration, below on th e right).
9 C: INST A LLING THE OPERA TOR STEP 4: Mount Pow er Head to Ceiling: Since there is su ch variety in ceiling s tructures, all the m ounting possibilities for the Pow er Unit cannot be illustrated here. The main concern is moun ting the Power Unit securely to the ceiling joists for operatio nal strength, rigidity and safety.
10 C: INST A LLING THE OPERA TOR STEP 7: Install a Rough Service lamp bulb (75 Watt maxim um) firm ly in the light socket. L ight bulbs in Door Openers are subj ect t o vibr atio n duri ng normal op era tio n which may short en thei r life spa ns. Rough Service bulb s, availab le at most hard ware stor es, are recomm ended.

In order for y our Saf e Finis h Photosy stem or Elect ric Edge to work p ro per ly you m ust co nfigure the moto r control board to work w ith these devices.
13 C: INST A LLING THE OPERA TOR Step 16: Connecting the Door Arm to the Door Type 1: Door Mounted Bracket Visual ly ali gn the door arm connecting hole w ith the m iddle hole of the door bracket by rotati ng the t ube section in the appropriat e direction.

16 E: AD J U S T M E N T S Adjustment #1: Opening Travel Your opener is assembled at the factory with th e trolley in the forw ard position with the open lim it stops snapped in place on the chain , set for a stan dard door. To confirm final open ing trav el adjustm ent, activ ate the opener t o bring the door t o the fully open position.

18 F: OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS OPERATION OF YOUR OP ENER HOW TO ACTIVATE THE O PENER Never let children operate or play with the door controls. Keep Remote Control Away f or Children. Use any of the follow ing devices: 1. The Remote C ontrol Transmitter.
19 HOW TO OP ERATE THE DOO R MANUALLY - MANUAL RELEASE DISCONNECT The door should be fully closed, if possible, bef ore using the manual disconnect. Weak or broken springs could allow an open door to fall rapidly. Property damage or serious personal injury could result.
