DVI DL 201 Tx/Rx • Installation 2-17 DDC switches When the DVI-D source device boots up, it uses the Display Data Channel (DDC), a two-way communication protocol, to obtain Extended Display Identication Data (EDID) from the display device. This allows the source to output a r esolution that matches the capabilities of the display .
