4 T asks that can be done using EMP Monitor EMP Monitor lets you carry out operations such as checking the statuses of multiple EPSON projectors that are c onnec ted to a network at a computer monitor , and controlling the projec tors from the computer .
5 Operating en vir onment Compatib le computers Macintosh computers are not supported. * Operations carried out at the computer may bec ome slo w depending on the number of projectors being managed. If this happens, use a c omputer with higher specificat ions.
6 Operating environment Limitati ons impos ed b y a Windows Vist a en vir onment When using EMP Monitor under W indows V ista, note the follo wing limitations. • Y ou must ha v e administrator authority in order to use "Register at startup" on the "En vironment setup" screen of EMP monitor .
7 Registering and deleting pr ojectors f or monitoring This operation is ca rried out when starting EMP Mon itor for the fi rst time after it has been installed and when you w ould lik e to add projectors.

10 Registering and deleting project ors for monitoring T o end the registr ation operation, clic k the in the top-right corner of the window or c lick [Cancel]. The icon(s) of the projector(s) y ou registered will be displayed in "Grouping view" or "Detail list view".
11 Registering and deleting project ors for monitoring f Procedures for reg istration Select the projector(s) to be registered, and then clic k [Edit]. The following windo w will be displayed. Make the necessary settings while referring to the following table.
12 Registering and deleting project ors for monitoring Regist ration by specify ing an IP ad dress ( Manu al reg istra tion) PROCEDURE Right-clic k in "Grouping vie w" and s elect "New" - "Projector (manual registration)".
13 Registering and deleting project ors for monitoring After entering the deta ils, clic k [Register] to star t the registration. When the message is dis pla yed, c lick [OK]. The icon(s) of the projector(s) y ou registered will be displayed in "Grouping view" or "Detail list view".

16 Registering and deleting project ors for monitoring Cancelling (deleting) projector regist rations The registrations for projectors can be deleted if they are no longer required for monitoring or control using EMP Monitor .
17 Monitoring windo w la y out Y ou can monitor using either of the windo w layouts belo w . • "Gro uping vie w" This vie w lets you check the status of group registrations in a hierarchical diagram.
18 Monitoring window layout The icon patterns and their meanings are e xplained below . *1 When "T em perature le vel display group view" is set to "On" at "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" menu, an icon indicating the internal temperat ure of the projector will be displ ayed on top of the projector icon.
19 Monitoring window layout Monitoring using "Detail list vie w" f Meanings of "Deta il list view" ico ns The status of re gistered projectors is displaye d as a list in "Detail list vie w" regardless of which groups the projectors belong to.
20 Monitoring window layout *1 When "T empera ture le ve l display group view" is set to "On" at "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" menu, an icon indicating the internal temperat ure of the projector will be displ ayed on top of the projector icon.
21 Monitoring window layout Select the check bo x of the item you want to display . Click [OK]. When all of the details of the item cannot be display ed in "Detail list view", drag the boundar y line on the right of the item name so that the view is e xtended to the desired width.
22 Monitoring window layout Monito rin g using th e syste m tray The projector statuses are always displayed as icons in the system tray , e ven when "Grouping vie w" or "Detail list vie w" is not al ways displayed, and the statuses can be checked by the icon patterns.
23 Monitoring window layout Displaying pr ojectors with pr oblem or warning status es in a lis t Y ou can display a list of only the projectors which ha ve a problem or warning status. PROCEDURE Select "W arning and Er r or Projector list" fr om the " Vie w" menu.
24 Monitoring window layout *Y ou can display the "Replace Lamp" warning at any time preset in "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" menu. Checking proper ties in det ail Y ou can check the properties of groups and pr ojectors in detail.

26 Using the contr ol functions Carrying out co ntr ol us ing co ntr ol b uttons Click the icon of a projector to be c ontrolled in "Grouping view" or "Detail list vie w", and clic k a control b utton to enable control of only that selected projector .
27 Using the control functions Carryin g out contr ol using a web br ows er (W eb cont r ol) Y ou can use the computer's web bro wser to change the conf iguration menu settings for projectors.
28 Using the control functions Carrying ou t contr ol using timer set tings This is useful for carrying out certai n control operations such as turning a projector's po wer on and off at specif ied times ev ery day or e very week.
29 Using the control functions f Procedures for new timer settings When you c lick "Add", the f ollowing window is display ed and the new timer settings are applied.
30 Setting the mail no tification function The mail notif ication function can be used to send corresponding notif ication messages to a preset e-mail address when a projector that is connected to the network assumes a certain status, or i f it e xperienc es a problem or warning.
31 Setting the mail notification function Click [Notification event] and chec k the items for mail notification in the win dow that appears. Click [OK]. When the "Set mail notification function" window appears again, repeat Steps 3 and 4 to set the e vents to be notified.
32 An e-ma il not ify ing the op erator of a pr o blem/wa rning/ sta tus is issu ed If the projector experiences a problem or enter s a status requiring attention, an e-mail like that sho wn belo w is sent to the address specified for "Recipie nt mail address".
33 Application loc k function Y ou can use the application lock to prev ent third parties from operating the projectors using EMP Monitor and from changing settings without authority . Opening and closing EMP Monitor and status m onitoring can still be carried out e ven when the application lock is applied.
