4 T asks that can be done using EMP Monitor EMP Monitor lets you carry out operations such as checking the statuses of multiple EPSON projectors that are connected to a network at a computer monitor , and controlling the pr ojectors from the computer .
5 Operating en vir onment Compatible computer s Macintosh computers cannot be used. * Operations carried out at the com puter may become slo w depending on the number of projectors being managed. If this happens, use a computer with higher specifications.
6 Registering and deleting pr ojector s f or monitoring This operation is carried out when starti ng EMP Monitor for the f irst time after it has been installed and when you would like to add pr ojectors.
7 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring Registering pr ojectors using automatic sear ch (Sear ching f or and registering pr ojector s that are located in the same segment) PROCEDURE f Procedures for automatic search Right-c lick in "Gr ouping vie w" and select "New" - "Pr ojector (automatic searc h)".
8 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring f Procedures for registration Select the projector(s) to be registered, and then clic k [Edit]. The follo wing windo w will be displayed. Make the necessary settings while referring to the follo wing table.
9 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring T o end the registration operation, clic k the in the top-right corner of the window or c lic k [Cancel]. The icon(s) of the projector(s) you registered will be displayed in "Grouping vie w" or "Detail list vie w".
10 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring f Procedures for registration Select the projector(s) to be registered, and then clic k [Edit]. The follo wing windo w will be displayed. Make the necessary settings while referring to the follo wing table.
11 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring Registration b y specifying an IP address (Man ual registration) PROCEDURE Right-c lick in "Gr ouping vie w" and select "New" - "Pr ojector (manual registration)". The follo wing windo w will be displayed.
12 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring After entering the details, c lick [Register] to start the registration. When the message is display ed, c lick [OK]. The icon(s) of the projector(s) you registered will be displayed in "Grouping vie w" or "Detail list vie w".

14 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring If the pr ojector name or IP address c hanges after registration f For projectors that have been registered manu ally PROCEDURE Right-c lick on a pr ojector icon in "Gr ouping view" or "Detail list view" and select "Monitoring disab led".
15 Registering and deleting pr ojectors for monitoring Cancelling (deleting) pr ojector registrations The registrations for projectors can be deleted if the y are no longer required for monitoring or control using EMP Monitor .
16 Monitoring windo w la y out Y ou can monitor using either of the window layouts belo w . • "Grouping view" This vie w lets you check the status of group registrations in a hierarchical diagram.
17 Monitoring window layout The icon patterns and their meanings are explained belo w . *1 When "T em perature le v el display group vie w" is set to "On" at "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" me nu, an icon indicating the internal temperature of the projector will be displayed on top of the projector icon.
18 Monitoring window layout Monitoring using "D etail list view" f Meanings of "Detail list view" icons The status of registered projectors is displayed as a list in "Detail list vie w " reg ardless of which groups the projectors belong to.
19 Monitoring window layout *1 When "T emperature le v el displa y group vie w" is set to "On" at "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" me nu, an icon indicating the internal temperature of the projector will be displayed on top of the projector icon.
20 Monitoring window layout When all of the details of th e item cannot be display ed in "Detail list view", dra g the boundary line on the right of the item name so th at the view is extended to the desired width.
21 Monitoring window layout Monitoring using the system tra y The projector statuses are alw ays disp layed as icons in the system tray , e ven when "Grouping vie w" or "Detail list vie w" is not alw ays displayed, and the statuses can be checked by the icon patterns.
22 Monitoring window layout Displa ying pr ojectors with pr oblem or warning statuses in a list Y ou can display a list of only the pr ojectors which ha ve a problem or warning status. PROCEDURE Select "W arning and Error Pr ojector list" fr om the "View" menu.
23 Monitoring window layout *Y ou can display the lamp life warni ng at any time preset at "En vironment setup" in the "T ool" menu.
24 Monitoring window layout f Displaying projector properties Right-click on a projector icon in "G rouping view " or "Detail list view " and select "Property".
25 Using the contr ol functions Carrying out control using contr ol buttons Click the icon of a projector to be controlled in "Grouping vie w " or "Detail list vie w", and click a c ontrol b utton to enable cont rol of only that selected projector .
26 Using the control functions Carrying out control using a web br o wser (W eb contr ol) Y ou can use the computer's web bro wser to change the conf iguration menu settings for projectors.
27 Using the control functions The details that can be checked and operations that can be carried out at this time are gi ven belo w . f Procedures for ne w timer settings When y ou clic k "Ad d", the follo wing window is display ed and the new timer settings are applied.
28 Setting the mail notification function The mail notification function can be used to send notification messages to preset e-mail addresses when a problem or warning occurs with a projector that is connected to the network.
29 Setting the mail notification function Clic k [Notification event] and chec k the items for mail notification in the window that appear s. Clic k [OK]. When the "Set mail notifica tion function" window appears again, repeat Steps 3 and 4 to set the ev ents to be notif ied.
30 If a pr oblem notification e-mail message has been sent If a problem occurs with a projector , an e-mail message containing the follo wing will be sent to all e-mail a ddresses that hav e been specif ied in "Recipient mail address". If there is more than one problem or warning, each message will appear on separate lines.
31 Application loc k function Y ou can use the application lock to pr ev ent third parties from operating the projectors using EMP Monitor and from changing settings without authority . Opening and closing EMP Monitor and st atus monitoring can still be carried out e ven when the applic ation lock is applied.
32 T r oub leshooting Projector s cannot be monitored or controlled An e-mail message is not sent when a prob lem occurs with a pr ojector Cause Remedy Is the projector connected to the network correctly? Connect the network cable correctly .
