6 T urning On th e Pr ojector This section de scribes the procedure fr om turning on the po wer to pr ojecting images. Pr ocedure 1 Check th at the power is turn ed off for all compon ents con nected to the projector . 2 Connec t the c ompute r or other video source to th e projector .

9 Basic Operations T urning Off th e Pr ojector Fo llow the p rocedure belo w to turn off t he po wer of the projector . Pr ocedure 1 T urn off the power for the sign al sour ces that are co nnected t o the projector . Check that the po wer for all connected component s has been tuned off.
Turning O ff the Pr ojector 10 6 Set the R/C s witch on the re mote contro l to the OFF position. 7 Retract the front adju stable foot if it is ext e nd ed . Gently push do wn on the projector while pressing the foot ad just b utton. 8 Attach the lens cover .
11 Basic Operations Adjustin g the S creen I mage Y ou can adjust the screen image in order to obtain the best possible picture. The size of the projected image is basically determined by th e distance from the projector to the screen.
Adjusti ng the Scr een Imag e 12 When the projector is set up at an angle, key stone distortion may appear in the projected images. If the projector is adju sted to within a range of ap proximately 30 ° verti cally or 10 ° horizo ntall y , th e keysto ne correction f unction can be us ed to adjust thi s ke ystone distor tion.
13 Basic Operations Pr ocedure Proce dure to follow if using both hor izontal a nd ver tical k eystone c orrectio n: 1. With the front adjusta ble foot retracte d, set the proj ector so that it is fully horizontal. 2. Extend t he front ad justabl e f oot to adjus t the angle a s necessary .
14 Adjusting the Image Qu ality The quality of the screen images can be adjusted as follows. T urn the f ocus ring to adj ust th e imag e focus. The follo wing fi ve co lor modes hav e been preset f or use with images with v arying characteristics.
15 Basic Operations This function changes the aspect ratio of video im ages from 4:3 to 16 :9 when video images ar e being projected. I mages which ha ve been recorded in digi tal video or on to D VDs can be vi ewed in 16:9 wide- screen forma t.
Adjusti ng the Image Qua lity 16 Computer images can be adjusted automatically to the o ptimum images. Automatic adjust ment in volves adjustment of the following three items: T racking , Display position and Sync (syn chronization) .
17 Basic Operations I If flick ering, fuzziness or interference ap pear in images that are inp ut from the computer , and thi s cannot be f ixed u sing automatic adj ustment, you w ill need to adjust the sync(synchronization) manually using the follo wing projection.
18 Adjusting the V olume Y o can adjust the volume of the sound coming from the projector's built-in speaker . Pr ocedure Press the [V olume , ] b utton on the pr ojector's control panel or the [V olu m e -,+] button on the r emote contr ol.

36 Using the Help If a problem occurs with the projector , the Help function u ses on-screen displays to assis t you in solving the pro blem. It uses a seri es of menus in a question and an swer format. The questions v ary depending on the type of image sou rce.

46 Main tenance This section descr ibes maintenance tasks such as cleaning the projector and replacing consumable parts. Y o u shou ld clean th e projector if it becom e s d irt y or if the quality of projected im ages star ts to deteriorate. Clean the projector case by wiping it gently with a soft cloth.
