2 Before You Begin Before You Begin Make sure y ou installed ink cartridges and loaded paper as described on the Start Here poster . Then follow the instructions in this guide to set up the printer for use on a network. Tip: For a video tutorial and other information about settin g up a wireless network, go to: epson.
Wireless Ne twork Installati on 3 Wireless Network Installation T o add the printer to your wir eless network, you need to kno w the name (SSID) of your wireless network.
4 Wireless Network Installation 2. Connect the other end to any available LAN port on your router , access point, or hub. If you don ’ t have access to an Ethernet port on your router , access point, or hub, connect the printer directly to your computer ’ s Ethernet network port.
Wireless Ne twork Installati on 5 Install Software The steps show installation screens for the W orkF orce ™ 600 Series, but the installation instructions are the same for the other models. 1. Insert the printer software CD. 2. Window s Vista ® : If you see the A utoPlay window , click Run Epsetup.

Do one of the following: ■ If the printer is connected to your ro uter , access point, or hub, select Method 1: Connect via a router/a ccess point (RECOMMENDED) . ■ If the printer is connected directly to your computer , select Method 2: Connect directly to the computer (ADVANCED) .
Wireless Ne twork Installati on 9 7. Select the printer you want to configure, then click N ext . Note: It may take up to 90 seconds for your computer to find the printer on the network.
10 Wireless Network Installation 9. Select your network name (SSID) from the list, then click Next . Note: If your router or access point doesn’t br oadcast its net work name (SSID), select Manually Enter Network Name (SSID) and enter t he network name.
Wireless Ne twork Installati on 11 ■ If you see the WPA Security Settings screen, enter your passphrase in the two text fields. If your passphrase contains upper- or lo wercase letters, be sure to enter them correctly .
12 Wireless Network Installation 12. Select Read/Write or Read Only to allow the printer’ s memor y card slots to be accessed ov er the network (Windows only). 13. Click Next . 14. When you see the Conf irm Settings screen , verify that the settings are correct, then click Next .
Wireless Ne twork Installati on 13 W ait while the printer connects to your wireless network. Note: It may take a while for t he printer to connect to th e network. If the network connection fails, the WEP key or passphrase may have been entered incorrectly .
14 Wireless Network Installation 15. When you see the N etwork Connection Su ccessful screen, disconnect the Ethernet network cable from the printer and your router , access point, hub, or computer . 16. Click Next . 17. N ow go to page 27 to finish the installation.
Wired (Ethernet) Insta llation 15 Wired (Ethernet) Installation F ollow the steps in this section to add the printer to your wired network. Connect the Ethernet Cable 1. Connect an Ethernet network cable to the LAN (10/10 0) p o r t on y o u r p r i n t e r .

Important : Do not select Method 2: Connect directly to the computer (ADVANCED) or Method 3: Connect with WP S or SES (NOT SU PPORTED) . 5. If you see a firewall alert message click Un block or Allow to let Epson EasyInstall continue.
20 Wired (Ethern et) Instal lation 6. Select the printer you want to configure, then click N ext . Note: It may take up to 90 seconds for your computer to find the printer on the network.
Wired (Ethernet) Insta llation 21 8. When you see this screen, click Next to configure the printer’ s IP address automatically (recommended). Note: T o configure the IP address manually , click Change . On the next screen, select Set the IP address m anually (adv anced) , and click Next .
22 Wired (Ethern et) Instal lation 11. When you see the Conf irm Settings screen , verify that the settings are correct, then click Next . The settings are sent to the printer . W ait while the printer connects to your network. Note: It may take a while for the prin ter to connect to t he network.
Install on Additi onal Computers 23 12. When you see the N etwork Connection Su ccessful screen, click Next . Note: Do not disconnect the Ethernet cable from the printer or router/access point.
24 Install on Additional Computers 3. Click Install . 4. When you see this screen, select Install driver for network connection and click Next . 5. F ollow the on-screen instructions to install the software for your product. Note: These installations take se veral minutes to complete.
Install on Additi onal Computers 25 6. Select Set up an additional compu ter to use this printer , then click Next . 7. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
26 Install on Additional Computers 9. If you see a firewall alert message click Un block or Allow to let Epson EasyInstall continue. Do not select Ask Me Later, Keep Blocking, or Block . Note: Make sure that you allow network access for Epson EasyInstall .

28 Finish th e Installat ion Mac OS X 1. F ollow the on-screen instructions. When you see this screen, click Fin ish . 2. When you see this screen, click Add Printer . 3. F ollow the steps on the right side of the screen to add your EPSON TCP/IP printer .
Finish the Installati on 29 4. Click Next . 5. F ollow the on-screen instructions to finish installing software. When installation is complete, you ’ re ready to print. See your printed documentation and on-screen Epson Information Center for details.

32 Troubleshooting 11. Click OK . 12. Click OK again to close the EPSON Scan Settings window . Note: If the printer’ s IP address changes, y ou will need to repeat steps 1 throug h 12 to reconfigure Epson Scan ne twork settings. Y ou ’ re r eady to scan and print.
Troubleshootin g 33 ■ Make sure ther e aren ’ t any access restrictions (such as MAC address filtering) set on the wireless router or access point. If access restrictions ar e set, register the printer’ s MAC address on the router or access point.
34 Troubleshooting Cannot communicate on a wired LAN Make sure that the wireless setting on the printer’ s control panel is set to Disable . Sel ec t Setup from the Home menu, select Ne twork Settin gs , choose Wireless LAN Setup , and select Disable .
Troubleshootin g 35 ■ Reset the printer ’ s network settings (s ee page 37) and perform a first-time installation of the printer software. (See page 3 for wir eless installations or page 15 for wired installations.) Printing is slow or the print is cut off P rint a N etwork S tatus Sheet (see page 36) and check the S ignal Condition.
36 Troubleshooting ■ The printer’ s IP Addr ess may have changed. If the printer is set to obtain an IP address automatically , the IP addr ess may change each time the printer is turned on. If the IP address has changed, you will need to r epeat the steps in “Configure Epson Scan N etwork S ettings ” on page 29.
