DIRECT VENT ONLY: This type is identied by the prex DV . This appliance draws all of its air f or combustion from outside the dwelling, through a specially designed v ent pipe system. This appliance has been tested and approved for installations from 0 feet to 4500 feet (1372 m) above sea level.
Main vent diameter 6 1 / 2 " The center of the ducting hook-ups are 10 3 / 16 " from the center of the main vent. Gas/electrical inlets are the same on both sides.

Maintenance And Ser vice R OUTINE M AINTENANCE : At least once a year , run through the following procedures to ensure the system is clean and working properly . Check the burner to see if all the ports are clear and clean. Check the pilot to make sure it is not blocked by anything.
Maintenance And Ser vice C LEANING D ECORATIVE S URFACES : P ainted and porcelain faces should be wiped with a damp cloth periodically . If a plated face has been purchased, it should be unpacked/unwr apped carefully to avoid getting anything on the surface of the nish, including cleaners, polish and nger prints.

L OG S ET AND E MBER I NSTALLATION : The placement of the logs is not arbitr ary . If they are positioned incorr ectly , the ames can be “pinched” and will not burn correctly . The burner (Figure 34) and a f ew of the logs come with locator pins, notches, and ledges which make alignment easier .

Figure 41: Once the logs are in place the embers can be placed onto and around the burner to create a realistic look. Bags of ceramic ber embers and rock wool are provided. The cer amic ber comes in chunks that are about 2” (51 mm) long. Place them irregularly around the burner .
