The Front Panel The front panel of the Wireless Ro uter is shown below . System LEDs System LED indicators l oc ate on the front panel for showing the operating status of the whole device. z Power (red Encore icon) LED This indicator lights gre en when the Wireless Ro uter is r eceiving power; otherwise, it is off.
Port LEDs (LAN) Port LEDs (LAN) indic ators locate on the front panel for s howing the operating stat u s of 10/100Mbps Fa st Ethern et switching ports. z Act/Link LED Every port has a Act/Link LED. Steady green (link state) indicates that the port has good linka ge to its associated devices.
4. Place the Router Wall-mount option Before attach this router on the wall, you have to finish the desktop option steps first. 1. Select a location with access for cables and a power outlet. 2. Unplug the unit. Place it upside down on a flat surface and mark the two holes for anchors.
Installing And Using W ireless Router This Chapter provides a step-by-step gui de to the installation and configuration of ENCORE Wireless Router . W e suggest you go over the whole chapter and then do more advanced operation.
Computer configuration setup In order to communic ate w ith this Wireless Router , you have to configur e the IP addresses of your c omputer to be compatibl e wit h the device.
3. C hoose Internet Proto col (TCP/IP) and click Properties. 4. Y ou may choose “Obtain a n IP address automatically”(recommend) to g et IP address automatically or choose “Use the followin g IP address” to spec ify IP addresses manu ally . Please click the OK button after yo ur co nfiguration.

4. The Graphic User Interaface After the password a uthorization, the Setup Wizar d sh ows up as the home page of the Graphic User int erface. Y ou may click on each folder on left colum n of each page to get access to each conf iguration page.
Setup Wizard If you are using the r out er for the first time, you may follow t he procedures of the s etup wizard to do a step-by-step config urati on. Note: The following instruction d oes an overall introd uction to the Setup Wizar d. For d etail information to eac h item, please refer to instr uction of each page.
3. Mark the check box to en able synchronizing time by NTP server . Select the religi on you live and a NTP server by click in g the drop list then click “Next ”.

Wireless Wireless Access Point builds a wireless LA N and can let all PCs equi pp ed with IEEE802.1 1b/g wireless network adaptor co nnect to your I ntranet. It supports WEP en cryption and MAC add ress filter to enhance the security of you r wireless network.

Advanced Settings Y ou can set advanced wireles s LAN parameters of th is ro uter . The parameters inclu de Authentic ation T ype, Fragment Threshold, RTS Threshold, Beacon I nterv al, Data Rate, Preamble T yp e, Bro adc ast SSID, IAPP and 802.1 1g Protection.
RTS Threshold If the packet size is smalle r the RTS threshold, the wireless router will n ot se nd this packet by using the RTS/CTS mechanism. Beacon Interval The period of time how l o ng a beacon is broadcasted. Data Rate The "Data Rate" is the d ata packets limitation this wireless router can tr ansmit.
Security At the page, you can set up the WE P , WP A Encryption to ensure the security of your Wireless. Configuration 21 Encryption T o enable WEP , WP A, WP A2 and WP A2 Mixed encryption modes, select the option in the drop list. If you select none, any data will be transmitted without Encry ption and any station can access the ro uter .
