C H A P T E R 1 I NTRODUCTION Product Description The 1522L is a retail terminal designed to pre sent information to the operator a nd the customer . The 1522L is available in USB only . The 1522L functionally consists of a 15. 0” LCD main display with a touchscreen, a n optional magnetic stri pe rea der (MSR), a n d a two port USB Hub .
M agnetic Stripe Re ader There is a USB MSR kit, which is sold separately . The USB version MSR is availa ble in Keyboard emulation or HID. The MSR rea ds all three stripes on a sta ndard credit card or driver’s license.

USB Interface Connection Y our touchmonitor comes with only one touchscreen USB connector ca ble. (For W in- dows 2000, Me, a nd XP systems only .) T o set up the display , plea se refer to the f ollowing figures a nd procedures: Remove the Ca ble Cover The ca bles are connected at the back of the monitor .
The following illustrations guide you step by ste p in connecting your touchmonitor using a USB ca ble connection. Power cord Connect one end of the power cord to the monitor a nd the other end to wall. Connect the power ca ble to the power port in the monitor .
2-1 1 Speaker ca ble Connect one end of the speaker ca ble to the speaker port in the computer a nd the other end to the port in the monitor. V ideo ca ble Connect one end of the video ca ble to the rear side of computer a nd the other to the LCD monitor .
Replace the Cable Cover Ca ble cover lip ca bles When you have atta ched all the ca bles to the monitor , gently bring all the ca ble s toward the sta nd so they fit under the cover lip.
2-13 Optimizing the LCD Display T o ensure the LCD display works well with your computer , configure the display mode of your gra phic card to make it less tha n or equal to 1024 x 768 resolution, a nd make sure the timing of the display mode is compatible with the LCD display .

C H A P T E R 3 O PERA TION About T ouchmonitor Adjustments Y our touchmonitor will unlikely require a djustment. V ari ations in video output a nd a pplication may require a djustments to your touchmonitor to opti mize the quality of the display .
5 4 3 2 1 LCD Function Key Controls Function 1 Power Switch T urns the display system power on or off . 2 Select Displays the OSD menus on the screen a nd used to input the OSD control options on the screen. 3 Adjusts the decrea sing value of the selected OSD control option.
Controls and Adjustment OSD Lock/Unlock Y ou are a ble to lock a nd unlock the OSD feature. The monitor is shi pped in the unlocked position. T o lock the OSD: 1 Press the Menu button a nd button si multa neously for 2 seconds. A window will a ppear displaying “OSD U nlock”.
OSD Control Options Brightne ss • Ba ckground lumina nce of the LCD pa nel is a djusted. Contra st • Adjusts the contra st or the values of color gain (red, green or blue). Sharp ness • The sharpne ss ca n be a djusta ble. Pha se • Adjusts the pha se of the dot clock.
Power-Save (No In put) • The LCD pa nel background is cut when there is no signal input (AC line power consumption of 4w or less). Power LED Display & Power Saving General Power Saving Mode When the power switch is on , this LED light is green.

C H A P T E R A N A TIVE R ESOLUTION The native resolution of a monitor is the resolution level at which the LCD pa nel is designed to perf orm be st. For the Elo LCD touchmonitor , the native resolution is 1024 x 768 for the 15” size. In almost all ca ses, screen i mage s look be st when viewed at the ir native resolution.
As a n exa mple, a SV GA resolution LCD pa nel ha s 800 pixels horizontally by 600 pixels vertically . Input video is also repre sented by the sa me terms.
