OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS Safety instructions The safety of AEG electrical appliances conforms to accepted rules of technology and the Appliance Safety Act. We as manufactur ers, however , see ourselves as being obliged to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
● Ensure the packaging materials for this appliance ar e kept away from childr en so as to prevent the risk of injury or suffocation. ● The water in your dishwasher is not for drinking. Detergent r esidues may still be present in your machine. K eep children well away fr om your dishwasher when the door is open.
Operating instructions 6 Disposal Dispose of the dishwasher packaging material correctly . All packaging materials can be recycled. Plastic parts are marked with standar d international abbreviations: >PE< for polyethylene, e.g. sheet wrapping material.

Operating instructions 8 Function buttons: in addition to the dishwashing progr amme selected, the following functions can also be set with the help of these buttons: - the setting of the water softener , - activation/deactivation of the rinse aid dispenser , - the cancelling of a progr amme in progr ess.
Operating instructions 9 Indicator lights: have the following meanings: As soon as you select a washing progr amme, the phase indicator lights for that progr amme will illuminate. As the progr amme starts, the phase indicator lights turn off except for the indicator light of the phase in progr ess which will remain lit with a static light.
Operating instructions 10 NOTE: Once the pr ogramme is running, the 3 in 1 function can NO longer be changed. If you want to exclude the 3 in 1 function you have to cancel the progr amme setting (see chapter "Starting a washing progr amme" - "Cancel a washing progr amme in progr ess") and then deactivate the 3 in 1 function .
Operating instructions 11 Prior to using for the first time Before using your dishwasher for the fir st time: 1. Ensure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions 2. Remove all packaging from inside the appliance 3.
Operating instructions 12 a) Setting manually 1. Open the dishwasher door . 2. Remove the lower basket from the dishwasher . 3. Turn the water har dness dial to position 1 or 2 (see table). 4. Replace the lower basket. The dishwasher is factory set at position 2.
Operating instructions 13 b) Setting electronically (The dishwasher must be switched off) NOTE: the electr onic setting of the water softener is possible ONL Y with the 3 in 1 function deactivated. The dishwasher is factory set at level 5. 1. Press the On/Off button.
Operating instructions 14 Filling with dishwasher salt Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers. All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher , especially table salt, will damage the water softener . Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing progr ammes.
Operating instructions 15 Rinse aid Rinse aid is automatically added during the last rinse, ensuring thorough rinsing, and spot and str eak free drying. The dispenser , which is positioned inside the door , holds about 1 1 0 ml of rinse aid, which is sufficient for 16 - 40 dishwashing progr ammes, depending upon the dosage setting.
Operating instructions 16 Adjusting the dose According to the finish and drying r esults obtained, adjust the dose of rinse aid by means of the 6 position selector (position 1 minimum dosage, position 6 maximum dosage). The dose is factory set in position 4.
Operating instructions 17 In daily use • Check if it’s necessary to r efill with dishwasher salt or rinse aid. • Load cutlery and dishes into the dishwasher . • Fill with dishwasher detergent. • Select a wash progr amme suitable for the cutlery and dishes.
Operating instructions 18 For washing in the di shwas her the following cutlery/dishes are not suitable: • Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother-of-pearl handles • Plastic items that are not .
Operating instructions 19 Open the door and slide out the baskets to load the dishes. The lower basket The lower basket is designed to take saucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery etc. Serving dishes and large lids should be arr anged around the edge of the basket, ensuring that the spray arms can turn fr eely .
Operating instructions 20 The cutlery basket Long bladed knives stored in an upright position ar e a potential hazard. Long and/or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives must be positioned horizontally in the upper basket. Take car e when loading or unloading sharp items such as knives.
Operating instructions 21 The upper basket The upper basket is designed for plates (dessert plates, saucers, dinner plates of up to 24 cm in diameter), salad bowls, cups and glasses. Arrange items on and underneath the cup r acks so that water can reach all surfaces.
Operating instructions 22 Adjusting the height of the upper basket If washing very large plates you can load them in the lower basket after moving the upper basket to the higher position. To move to the higher position pr oceed as follows: 1. Move the front runner stops (A) of the upper basket outwar ds and slide the basket out.
Operating instructions 23 Use of deter gent Only use detergents specifically designed for use in dishwashers . We r ecommend the use of Finish detergents .
Operating instructions 24 Differ ent kinds of deter gent Deter gent tablets Detergent tablets fr om different manufactur es dissolve at different rates. For this r eason, some detergent tablets do not attain their full cleaning power during short washing progr ammes.
Operating instructions 25 Use of "3 in 1" combi deter gents These products ar e detergents with a combined cleaning, rinsing and salt function. 1. Check whether these detergents ar e suitable for your water hardness. Follow the manufactur ers instructions.
Operating instructions 26 W ashing progr ammes (1) Testing progr amme for EN 50242 (see "Hints for T est Centres). This progr amme, developed for the use of detergents with enzymes, allows you to.
Operating instructions 27 Starting a washing pr ogr amme 1. Check that the baskets have been loaded corr ectly and that the spray arms can r otate fr eely 2. Turn on the water tap 3. Close the dishwasher door 4. Press the On/Off button The indicator lights of the progr amme selection buttons illuminate.
Operating instructions 28 The opening of the door during the countdown will not modify the delay start. Once the delay start has elapsed the progr amme will start automatically . Note: it is possible to select a washing progr amme and the delay start also with the door slightly opened.
Operating instructions 29 7. To cancel a delay start To cancel a delay start in pr ogress you have to r eset the dishwasher; follow the same instructions given in "To cancel a washing progr amme in progr ess". Cancelling a delay start involves also the cancelling of the washing progr amme set.
Operating instructions 30 Maintenance and cleaning Clean the external surfaces of the machine and control panel with a damp soft cloth. If necessary use only neutral deter gents. Never use abrasive pr oducts, scouring pads or solvent (acetone, trichloroethylene etc.

Installation instructions 43 W ater inlet hose with safety valve After connecting the double-walled water inlet hose, the safety valve is next to the tap. Therefor e the water inlet hose is only under pressur e while the water is running. If the water inlet hose starts to leak during this operation, the safety valve cuts off the running water .
Installation instructions 44 W ater outlet hose connection The end of the drain hose can be connected in the following ways: 1. To the sink outlet spigot, securing it to the under side of the work surface. This will prevent waste water fr om the sink running into the machine.
Installation instructions 45 Electrical connection WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. The manufacturer declines any r esponsibility should this safety measure not be observed. If the plug that is fitted to your appliance is not suitable for the socket, it must be cut off and the appropriate plug fitted.
Installation instructions 46 The plug moulded onto the lead incorporates a 13amp BSI362 fuse. Only ASTA or BSI fuses should be used. The plug must not be used if the fuse cover/carrier is lost. The cover/carrier is indicated by the coloured insert at the base of the plug.
