4 Safety The safety aspects of our appliance comply with accepted technical stan- dards and the German Appliance Safety Law . Nevertheless, we consider it our obligation to make you aware of the following safety information: Intended use • The appliance is intended for use in the home.
5 Daily Operation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatur es. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, for example, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill car- tridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Warning! Befor e disposing of old appliances make them inoperable. Remo- ve plug from mains, sever the power cable, remove or destroy any snap or latch closures, to prevent small children being trapped inside.
7 1. Screw the top handle bracket to the handle rod (1). Fit the bottom handle bracket on the lower left- hand side of the door (2). 2. Fit the top handle bracket on the top left-hand side of the door (3) and screw the handle rod to the bot- tom handle bracket (4).
8 D338 Prior to Initial Start–Up • Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial start- up (see section: “Cleaning and Care”). Starting up and temperatur e regulation • Insert the plug of the connection lead into the plug socket with protecti- ve earth contact.
9 • T o do this pull the stor age shelf forwar d until it can be swivelled upwards or downwards and removed. • Please do the same in rever se to insert the shelf at a different height. Adjusting the upper door rack • Depending on the food stored, the upper door racks can be changed to other holders or removed.
10 • Allow warm food to cool down before freezing. The warmth will cause increased ice formation and increase the power consumption. • Please note the maximum storage times specified by the manufacturer . • Thawed foods which have not been pr ocessed further (cooked into meals) may not under any circumstances be frozen a second time.
11 D037 Defr osting Refrigerator Frost is automatically eliminated during normal use. The defrost water drains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, where it evaporates.
