5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to initial start up • Note the ”Installation and connection instructions” • Before first starting up, check the machine f or any damage incurred during transport. Never connect a damaged machine. If parts ar e damaged, contact your supplier .
6 Child safety • Keep packaging away fr om ch ildren. Risk of suffocation! • Childre n can often not see the danger s associated with electrical ap- pliances. Never leave unsuperv ised children near the dryer . • Ensure tha t children and small anim als cannot climb into the dryer’ s drum.
7 2 Old appliance The symbol W on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be tr eated as hous ehold waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collec tion point for the r ecy cling of elec- trical and electronic equi pment.

9 Befor e the first drying cycle In order to r emove any residue which may have been pr oduced during production, wipe the dryer drum wi th a damp cloth or undertake a brief drying cycle (30 MIN) with damp cloths. 12 Drying Switching machine on / switching light on Turn the progr amme selector to any progr amme or turn it to LIGHT . The machine has been switched on.
13 Selecting additional functions INTENSITY Precise setting of humidity content of laundry . Laundry becomes dryer from + to +++. 1. Press the INTENSITY button as many times as necessary until the small light at the level of residual dampness requir ed is illuminated.
14 Setting time delay 3 With the DELA Y TIMER button, you ca n delay the start of a pr ogramme by between 30 minutes ( 30 ' and a maximum of 23 hour s ( 23h ). 1. Select the progr amme 2. Press the DELA Y TIMER button as many times as necessary until the re- quired start delay appear s on the multi display , e.
15 Removing laundry or load ing laundry when necessary 1. Open loading door 1 War n i ng ! Laundry and drum can become hot. Risk of burns! 2. Load or remove laundry items. 3. Close the door securely . Lock must audibly lock. 4. Press the ST ART/PAUSE button to continue the drying cycle.
16 Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning lint filter To ensur e that the dry er works effici ently , the lint filters (micr o-fine fil- ter and fine strainer) must be cleaned after every drying cycle. 1 Caution! Never operate the dryer without fluff filter s or with damaged or blocked fluff filters.
17 Clean the entir e filter area 3 The strainer ar ea does not have to be cleaned after every drying cycle, but should be checked regularly and cleaned of fluff if necessary . 6. To do this, grip the top of the large mesh filter and pull it forwards un- til it comes loose from the two brackets.
18 Emptying the water r eservoir Empty water reservoir after every drying cycle. If the water reservoir is full, an active pr ogramme will be interrupted automatically and the EMPTY WA TER di splay will light up. In order to continue the progr amme, the wa ter reservoir must be emptied.
19 Cleaning heat exchanger If the HEAT EXCHANGER display is illuminated, the heat exchanger needs to be cleaned. 1 Caution! Operating when the heat exchanger is clogged with lint can damage the dryer . This also increases energy consumption. 1. Open loading door 2.
20 Cleaning the drum 1 Caution! Do not use abrasives or steel wool to clean the drum. 3 Lime in the water or cleaning agents may form a bar ely visible lining on the inside of the drum. The degree to which the laundry has been dried is then no longer detected r eliably .
21 Drying r esults unsatis- factory . Wr ong programme selected. Select a different progr amme the next time you dry (se e “Overview of pr ogrammes” section). Lint filter clogged. Clean lint filter . Heat exchanger clogged with lint. Clean heat exchang er .
22 Changing bulb for interior light Only use a special bulb which is designed specially for dryers. The spe- cial bulb is available from the local Service For ce Centre.

28 Door r eversal instructions 1 War n i ng ! The door may only be r eversed by a specialist. If necessary , please contact your local Service Force Centr e. War n i ng ! Before r eversing the door , disconnect the mains plug; with a permanent connection: remove the fuse.
29 12. Change door lock F over to the opposite side, insert the cable connector and screw down the door interlock. 13. On the other side, insert the cable connector in cover G, insert cover and allow snap-in button to lock into place. 14. Insert door and hinges into recesses on the fr ont of the machine and screw down.
