10 Befor e the first wash 1. Open the detergent dr awer . 2. P our approx. 1 litr e of water through the detergent dr awer into the washing machine. This closes the water container when the next progr amme is started and the economy valve can function pr operly 3.

13 Changing the spin speed/selecting rinse hold The washing machine suggests the maximum permitted spin speed suitable for the selected pro- gramme. Y ou can reduce this spin speed: To do this, pr ess the Spin/RINSE HOLD button repeatedly until the requi red indicator is illuminated.

15 Setting the delay timer 3 Using the DELA Y TIMER button you can delay the start o f a progr amme by 30 minutes ( 30 ') to a maximum of 23 hours ( 23h ). 1. Select the progr amme. 2. Press the DELA Y TIMER button repeated ly until the desir ed start delay is shown in the multi-dis play , e.
16 Interrupting a pr ogramme/adding washing Interrupting a pr ogramme • A progr amme can at any time be in terrupted by pressing the ST ART/ PAUSE button and r esumed by pressing START/P AUSE again. • To cancel a pr ogramme befor e it has ended, turn the progr amme se- lector to OFF .
17 Child safety device If the child safety device has been activated, the door can no longer be shut. Activating the child safety device: Use a coin to turn the knob (on the inside of the door) in a clockwise di- rection as far as it will go.
18 Cleaning and car e Important: Do not use furnitur e cleaning products or aggr essive clean- ing agents to clean the appliance. Wipe over the control panel and housing with a damp cloth. Deter gent drawer The detergent dr awer should be cleaned regularly .
19 What to do if... Remedying small faults yourself If during use of the appliance one of the following err or codes is shown in the multi-display: – E10 (Problems with the water inflow), – E20 (Problems with the water outflow), – E40 (door open), please consult the following table.

22 Carrying out an emer gency drain 1 War n i n g ! Prior to carrying o ut an em ergency dr ain, switch off the washing machine and remove the power plug from the power point. War n i n g ! The water that comes out of the emergency drain hose may be hot.
23 Dr ain pump The dr ain pump is maintenance-free. It is only necessary to open the pump cover if there is a malfunction and water is no longer being pumped out, e.g. if the pump wheel is blocked. Before loading the machine, please always ensure that ther e are no for- eign bodies present in the pockets or in between the items to be washed.
24 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be recy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

Do not under any cir cumstanc- es connect an appliance that is dama ged to the mains.
27 Installing the appliance T ransporting the appliance 1 War n i n g : The washing machine is very heavy . There is a risk of injury . Exercise car e when lifting the appliance. • Do not lay the washing machine on its front nor on its right side (as seen from the f ront).

33 When discharging into a stand- pipe ensure that the top of the curve in the hose end is no more than 90 cm (35.4’’) and no less than 60 cm (23.6’’) above floor level. The upright standpipe should have a minimum, length of 30 cm (12’’) from the bottom of the el- bow to the top of the pipe (see di a g ra m) .
