5 D aily Operation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatur es. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove transport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are protected for tr ansport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Shelf holders Y our appliance is equipped with shelf retainer s that make it possible to secure the shelves during tr ansporta- tion.
7 Starting up and temper ature r egulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar- bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always r emain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The r emaining storage shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
9 B utter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos- sible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door .
10 1. Place the packed food in the drawers. Place food to be frozen in the upper drawer . Unfr ozen food must not touch items already frozen, otherwise the frozen food could begin to defr ost. 2. Place frozen foods in the dr awers sorted by type, as far as possible.
11 4. Turn the thermostat knob to the required setting and replace the plug in the power socket. Warning! Never use metal tools to scrape off the frost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those recommended by the manufacturer .
