Installation • This appliance is h eavy. Care should be taken when moving it. • When unpacking the appliance, check that it is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use it and contact the Service Centre. • All packing and transit bolts must be re- moved before use.
Product description Your new appliance meets all modern requir ements for effective treatm ent of laundr y with low water, energy and detergent consum ption. Its new washing system allows total use of detergent and reduces wate r consumption so saving energy.
Detergent dispenser drawer Compartment for detergent used for pre- wash and soak phase or for stain remover used during the stain action phase (if availa- ble). The prewash and soak detergent is added at the beginning of the wash pro- gramme. The stain remover is added during the stain action phase.
Spin Reduction By pressing this butt on you can change the spin speed of the selected programme. Easy Iron By selecting this option the laundry is gently washed and spun to avoid any creasing. In this way ironing is easier. Furtherm ore the machine will perform some additional rinses in some programmes.

Personalisation Acoustic signals The machine is provid ed with an acoustic device, which sounds in the following cases: • at the end of the cycle • if there is a fault. By pressing the 4 and 5 buttons simultane- ously for about 6 seconds , the acoustic sig- nal is deactivated (excep t if there is a f ault).
Select the required programme by turning the programme selector dial (1) Turn the programme selector dial to the re- quired programme. The washing machine will propose a temperature and automatically select the maximum spin value provided for the programme you have chosen.
1. Set the washing machine to PAUSE by pressing button 8 . 2. Press button 6 once until the symbol 0’ is displayed 3. Press button 8 again to start the pro- gramme. Important! The selected delay can be changed only after selecting the washing programme again.
You can select now a new programme. Opening the door After the programme has s tarted (or during the delay time) the door is locked, if you need to open it, set first the machine to PAUSE by pressing the button 8 . If the icon 7.10 disappears from the display, the door can be opened.
Maximum loads Recommended loads ar e indicated in the washing programme charts. General rules: • Cotton, linen: drum full but not too tightly packed; • Synthetics: drum no more than half full; • Delicate fabrics and woollens: drum no more than one third full.
Degrees of water hardness Water hardness is classified in so-called “de- grees” of hardness. Information on har dness of the water in your area can be obtained from the relevant water supply company, or from your local authority. A water softener must be added when water has a medium-high degree of hardness (from degree of hardness II).

Descaling The water we use normally contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine. Do this separately from any laundry washing, and according to the soften ing powder manufac- turer's instructions. This will help to prevent the formation of lime deposits.
6. Insert the detergen t dispenser drawer in the guide rails an d push it in. Washing drum Rust deposits in the drum may occur due to rusting foreign bodies in the washing or tap water containing iron. Important! Do not clean the drum with acidic descaling agen ts, scouring agents containing chlorine or iron or steel wool.
7. Remove any objects from the pump im- peller by rotating it. 8. Refit the cap on the emergency em pty- ing hose and place the latter back in its seat. 9. Screw the pump fully in. 10. Close the pump door. Warning! When the appliance is in use and depending on the programme select ed there can be hot water in the pump.

Installation Unpacking All transit bolts and packing must be re- moved before using the appliance. You are advised to keep all transit devices so that they can be refitt ed if the machine ever has to be transported again. 1. After removing all the packaging, carefully lay machine on it’s back to remove the polystyrene base from the bot tom.
5. Open the porthole and remove the poly- styrene block fitted on the door seal. 6. Fill the smaller upper hole and the two large ones with the corresponding plastic plug caps supplied in the bag containing the instruction booklet. Positioning Install the machine on a flat hard floor.
Water inlet Warning! This appliance must be connected to a cold water supply. 1. Connect the water inlet hose supp lied with the machine to a tap with a 3/4" thread. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Important! Do not use the hose from your previous machine to connect to the water supply.
The drain hose may be extended to a maximum of 4 metres. An additional drain hose and joining piece is available from your local Service Centre. Electrical connection Information on the el ectrical connection is given on the rating plate on the inner edge of the appliance door.
