8 Contr ol P anel Water softener and function button: In addition to the indicated wash progr amme, the dishwasher water softener can be set using a combination of these b ut- tons. The 3 lights on the multidisplay can displa y : • the current stage of the wash pro- gramme selected.
9 Adjusting the W ater Softener T o pre vent the build up of scale on dishes and in the dishwasher , the dishes must be washed with soft, i.e . low lime content w ater . For this reason the dish- washer is fitted with a w ater softener in which tap water from a hardness of 4 °d (German degree) is softened with the aid of special salt.
10 – If the hardness setting is changed, the LED indicator f or the water-softener b utton will con- firm the change by remaining illumi nated con- tinuously f or 5 seconds and then flashing again. – The number of flashes corresponds to the ne w hardness setting.
11 Filling with Special Salt f or the W ater Softener 1 Use only special salt for dishw ashers. Ne ver fill the salt container with an y another type of salt (e.g. culinary salt) or dishwasher deter- gent. This would irrepar ably damage the water softener .
12 Filling with Rinse Aid Rinse aid ensures that your dishes gleam and are free from spots, and that y ou glasses are clear . 1 Use only branded rinse aid f or dishwashers. Ne ver fil l the rinse aid container with any another substance (e.g. concentrated vine- gar).
13 In Dail y Use • Is it necessar y to refill with special salt or r inse aid? • Load cutler y and dishes into the dishwasher • Fill with dishwasher detergent • Select a wash progr amme suitab.

15 Loading P ans, Frying Pans and Large Plates Load large and heavil y soiled dishes in the lo wer bas- ket (Plates up to 29cm in diameter). Y our dishwasher has one of the f ollowing two types of low.
16 Loading Cups, Glasses and Coffee Services Load small, delicate items and long pointed cutlery in the upper basket. • Arrange plates and dishes offset on and under the f olding cup rac ks so that washing w ater can reach all items. • The cup racks can be f olded up out of the way f or tall items.
17 Filling with Deter gent 1 Only use dishwasher detergent. Fill with detergent: Prior to the star t of a wash progr amme (not f or the pre wash progr amme). The detergent is released into the wash w a ter during the programme. 2 Please observe the manuf acturer's dosing and storage recommendations as stated on the detergent packaging.
18 Use of "3 in 1"/ Combi Detergent Ta b l e t s General Advice These products are tablets with combined detergent/ rinse-aid and salt functions.
19 Selecting the W ash Pr ogramme (Pr ogramme T able) Choose the most suitable w ash programme with the aid of this tab le: 1) The various stages in the wash programme have diff erent sounds because the dishe s are washed more intensely for shor t periods dur ing cer tain stages of the wash programme to improv e cleaning.
20 Star t the wash pr ogramme 1. Check that when the dishes and cutlery are loaded in the dishwasher the spra y ar ms are free to rotate. 2. Open the tap fully . 3. Shut the door . 4. Press the On/Off button. The On/Off b utton indica- tor lights up .
21 Care and Cleaning 1 Do not under any circumstances use fur ni- ture care products or aggressiv e cleaners. • If necessar y , clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pure warm water . • Occasionally check the internal containers, door seal, and water inlet f or soiling, clean if necessar y .
22 What to do if ... T r y to re ctify minor f aults on the dishwasher with the aid of the instructions given here. If y ou call in cus- tomer ser vice to resolve one of the malfunctions listed here, .
23 ...there are pr oblems operating the dishwasher . ...the wash results are unsatisfactory . The dishes are still dir ty . • The wrong wash progr amme was selected. • The dishes were arranged in such a w a y as to stop the water reaching all parts of the surface.

29 Connecting the Dishwasher W ater Connection The dishwasher is fitted with saf ety devices that pre- vent the w ash water returning into the dr inking water system and comply with the applicable plumbing reg- ulations. • The dishwasher can be connected to cold and hot water supplies up to max.

31 W ater drain Drain hose 1 The drain hose m ust not be kinked, crushed or entangled. • Connecting the drain hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum required height 40 cm above the low er edge of the machine. Extension hoses • Extension hoses are av ailab le from your dealer or customer ser vice.
32 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requ ired to install thi s appliance should be carri ed out by a qualified electrician or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any responsi- bility should these safety measures not be observed.
33 Connections The water inlet and drain hoses , as well as the mains cable m ust be connected beside the dishwasher because there is no space f or them behind the appli- ance.
