5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings ar e protected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces fr om the interior of the appliance. Disposal of old Appliances For environmental r easons, refriger ation appliances must be disposed of properly .
Starting up and temper ature r egulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar - bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thor oughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensure fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.

12 4. Insert the plastic scraper into the recess pr ovided under the defrost water channel and place a collecting basin under it. 5. Once defrosting is completed keep the scraper handy for futur e use; 6. Turn the thermostat knob to the requir ed setting or replace the plug in the power socket.
