13 ST ART/PAUSE button This button has two functions: a) Start After having selected the r equired pr ogramme, pr ess this button to start the machine.
ELECTRONIC DRYING button This button enables you to choose the r equired degr ee of drying for cottons and synthetics: Extr a dry (not for easy cares) - Cupboar d dry - Ir on dry (not for easy cares) The drying time is automatically adjusted by the machine: the laundry will be dried to the selected degr ee of dryness.
• When the pr ogramme has finished, a steadily lit zer o is displayed. • Delayed start, (23 hour s max.) progr ammed using the special button. The countdown is updated every hour . • Alarm code indicating a fault in the machine oper ation (see page 38).
Opening the door after the pr ogramme has started T o open the door set the machine to PAUSE by pr essing the START/P AUSE button. The DOOR light on the contr ol panel beside the ST ART/P AUSE button .
Deter gent dispenser dr awer Compartment for pr ewash or stain r emover . The prewash deter gent is added at the beginning of the wash pr ogr amme. The stain r emover is added dur- ing the ST AIN-Action phase in the main wash. Compartment for powder or liquid deter gent used for main wash.
Pr eparing the wash cycle Sorting out and pr eparing the laundry • Sort out the laundry accor ding to type of fabrics and care labels (see “T ypes of fabric and care labels”). • Empty pockets. • Remove any metal parts (safety pins, clips, etc.
W eight of laundry T ypes of fabric and care labels The labels on garments help you to select the most suitable wash pr o- gr amme. The laundry should be sorted out according to the type of fab- ric and the instructions indicated on car e labels. T emperatur es indicated on labels are always maximum temper atures.
Delicates Micr ofibres, synthetics or curtains marked with these symbols r equire a very gentle tr eatment. The DELICA TES progr amme is suitable for this type of fabric. W oollens and particularly delicate items Fabrics such as wool, wool mix or silk marked with this symbol ar e par- ticularly sensitive to machine washing.
21 Deter gents and additives Which deter gent?.... T o ensure you obtain the best wash r esults from your appliance, it is important to use the right deter gent in your everyday wash, and only deter gents recommended for use in automatic machines.
And in which form? Not only ar e ther e differ ent types of deter gent, but they ar e also available in differ ent forms. Whether you chose a powder or liquid in tr aditional or compact form is your own per sonal choice. TRADITIONAL POWDERS P our the powder dir ectly into the dispenser drawer .
23 Pr eparing the drying cycle As a dryer , the machine works on the condensation principle. Ther efore, the water tap must be open and the dr ain hose must dr ain water into a sink or into the drain pipe, even during the dry- ing cycle .
Drying symbols on garment labels Always look at the garment label to check whether garments can be machine dried. The following symbols r efer to drying: Machine drying is usually possible Normal dryi.
25 How to wash Max. load - cottons 6 kg - easy car es and delicates 3 . kg - wool, silk and (handwash) 2 . kg Load the laundry Open the door . Place the laundry in the drum, one item at a time. Distribute laundry as evenly as possible. Close the door .
Selection of the desir ed wash progr amme T urn the progr amme selector dial to the desir ed position: the lights corr esponding to the different phases making up the selected pr ogramme light up.
27 How to wash EXTRA RINSE This appliance is designed for saving water . However , for people with a very delicate skin (aller gic to detergents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extr a quantity of water (extra rinse). The extr a rinse is available only with the cotton, easy care and deli- cates.
Starting the pr ogramme 1. Check that the water tap is open. 2. Pr ess START/P AUSE to start the progr amme. If the Delay Start option has been selected the pr ogramme will start at the end of the countdown.
At the end of the pr ogramme The machine stops automatically . A zero appear s on the display . The END light comes on in the pr ogramme pr ogress display , the ST ART/PAUSE light is off and the DOOR light is gr een. If the OVER DOSING light comes on it indicates that too much deter- gent has been used.
Automatic washing and drying (NON-ST OP progr amme) W arning! For NON-STOP pr ogrammes, it is also essential not to exceed the maximum load sizes of 3 kg for cotton and 2 kg for easy car es. Load the laundry . Add deter gent and additive. Do not use a dosing device when carrying out automatic washing and drying pr ogr amme.

Consumption data for timed drying The values shown in the chart have been obtained in labor atory tests. They may vary when the appliance is used at home, but they can be used as a guide.
35 Cleaning and maintenance After each wash At the end of the wash pr ogramme, pull the dispenser dr awer out a lit- tle to let it dry . Leave the door ajar to allow air to cir culate. If the machine is not used for a pr olonged period: Close the water tap and unplug the appliance.
T o facilitate cleaning, the top part of the additive compartment can be r emoved. Deter gent can also accumulate inside the dr awer r ecess: clean it with an old tooth- brush. Refit the dr awer after cleaning. Door seal Regularly check to see, if ther e are deposits or for eign objects in the rubber seal behind the door and r emove them.
Remove any objects fr om the pump impeller by r otating it. Put the cap back on the emer gency emptying hose and place the latter back in its seat. Scr ew the pump fully in. Close the pump door . W ater inlet filter If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked.
38 Fr ost precautions If the machine is installed in a place wher e the temperatur e could drop below 0°C, pr oceed as follows: • Close the water tap and unscr ew the water inlet hose from the tap. • Place the end of the emer gency emptying hose and that of the inlet hose in a bowl placed on the floor and let water dr ain out.

50 Installation Unpacking All tr ansit bolts and packing must be removed befor e using the appliance. Using a spanner , unscr ew and remove the 2 r ear bottom scr ews. Slide out the 2 plastic pins. Lay the machine on its back, taking car e not to squash the hoses.
51 Set the machine upright and r emove the r emaining rear scr ew . Slide out the r elevant pin. Plug the open holes with the plugs which you will find in the plastic bag containing the instruction booklet. Y ou are advised to keep all tr ansit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be tr ansported again.
W ater inlet (cold water connection only) Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thr ead. Installation should comply with local water authority and building r egulations’ requir e- ments.
When dischar ging into a standpipe ensur e that the top of the standpipe is no mor e than 90 cm (35.4'') and no less than 60 cm (23.6'') above floor level. The dr ain hose may be extend- ed to a maximum of 4 metr es. An additional dr ain hose and joining piece is available fr om your local Service Force Centr e.
54 In the inter est of the environment W ashing machines and dish- washer s should be connected to the FOUL dr ainage system, the water will then be taken to a sewage works for tr eat- ment befor e being discharged safely into a river .
If you fit your own plug, the colour s of the wires in the mains lead of your appliance may not corr espond with the markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pr oceed as follows: Connect the gr een and yellow (earth) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «E» or the earth symbol or colour ed gr een and yellow .
