A B 1 S-2 A B Battery Battery 1 A B Battery Battery Separate the key from the remote by inserting your thumbnail or a coin in the crease. Remove the key by grasping at the bottom. Insert face up the key you selected on the previous page. Pull the remote battery cover off.
S-3 Quick Setup RECORD T urn your receiver and TV on, and press SYSTEM INFO on the front of the receiver . Confirm that you see the System Information screen. Press RECORD on your remote. The remote address probably changes on the screen. Using your remote, select Done on the System Info screen to confirm that your remote operates your receiver .
S-4 Quick Setup T urn your TV on. Press & hold the TV Mode button until all Mode buttons light up. Press POWER. Press the UP ARROW on the remote repeatedly (about 1 press per second) until your TV turns off. Press POUND. The TV Mode button flashes three times.

1 R EMOTE C ONTROL O VERVIEW Use this full-function remote to control a var iety of DISH Network receivers. Also, you can program the remote to control most of the popular brands of audio/ video equipment like a TV , VCR, DVD player , or a second DISH Network satellite receiver .
2 If you program the remote to contro l other equipment, refer to the following for remote cont rol operation instructions: • TVs, page S-8 (at the beginning of this guide). • VCRs and DVD players, page S-9. • DISH Network satellite receivers, page S-7.

6 S CANNING FOR E QUIPMENT C ODES Instructions Additional Information 1 T urn the equipment on. Use the equipment’ s front panel buttons or its remote control. 2 Press and hold the mode button until all the other mode buttons light up, and then let go of the button.
7 S WITCHING B ETWEEN TV AND A MPLIFIER V OLUME C ONTROL When you set up the remote to control a TV , the MUTE and VOLUME buttons control the TV volume, even if your remote control is in SA T mode.
8 P ROGRAMMING THE R EMOTE TO C ONTROL A S ECOND R ECEIVER IN AUX M ODE If you have another DISH Network sate llite receiver in stalled, yo u can use this remote in AUX mode to control it along with your new receiver . When you program the remote to control the other receiver , the remote sends out IR and UHF (not UHF Pro) signals to the receiver .
9 Note : If you aren’t sure how to access the System Info screen or if there isn’t a SYSTEM INFO button on the front panel of yo ur receiver , check your receiver’s User Guide . W rite down the address shown: 2 Press and hold the AUX button until all the other mode buttons light up, and then let go of the button.
10 For AUX mode, the first group of flashes tells you what type of device the AUX mode controls, then the following flashes tell you each digit of the equipment code. A quick flash (zero) before the three-digit code is for a TV ; one regular flash is for a VCR or DVD player; and two flashes is for a tuner or amplifier .
11 D ISCRETE C ODES FOR L EARNING R EMOTES Note : Discrete codes are only used by IR remotes (either the TV1 remote or a un iversal remote). Remote control discrete On an d Off IR commands are used by installers when progra mming macr o commands into universal re motes.
12 A VOIDIN G R EMOTE C ONFLICT S When your remote control uses UHF , you may experience interference from other nearby remotes. In situ ations where neighbors are near (apartments, townhouses , etc.), your receiver could be picking up signals from your neighbors’ remotes.
13 C HANGING THE UHF F REQUENC Y U SING THE A/B S WITCH —DISH P LAYER -DVR 942, D UO V I P 222, D UO DVR V I P 622 DVR, AND D UO DVR V I P 722 DVR O NLY Y our remote has a switch to cha nge the UHF frequency th at your remote control uses.
14 S ETTING U P A TV1 UHF P RO R EMOTE FOR THE D UO DVR 522 AND D UO DVR 625 O NL Y Use these special instructions only if you are going to u se the green 1 UHF Pro key to control the TV1 side of your DuoDVR 522 or 625 (also known as DISH Player-DVR 522 or 625).
15 6 Use the ARROW buttons to move the highlight to the TV1 remote address (the Rem Addr box as shown below). This is important—if you do not move the highlight, your remote changes the receiver's TV2 remote address (the Rem Addr box) and causes your Remote Control 1 to control the TV2 side of your receiver .

24 T ROUBLESHOOTING What’ s Happening What’ s W rong What Y o u Can Do While performing a remote contr ol procedure, the remote contr ol stops working. If you don’t press a button for 20 seconds in a programming sequence, th e remote shuts off its programming function.
25 Your remote control isn’t working • The remote control is in the wrong mode. • You mi ght be using the wrong remote control (TV1 or TV2). • Your batteries are worn out. • The remote control’s A/B switch is in the wrong position. • Make sure the remote cont rol is in the correct mode.
